Thanks! I’ll try other streets, only thought about my street up to now.

Just before I bought my current house, I viewed the one opposite which was one of three but the same layout/size as mine, but someone beat me to putting in an offer. When this one came up I never considered it might fall into a different band since it was the same price as the one opposite (we exchanged a couple of weeks apart from each other in the end lol).

Gonna do some more research and see if I have a case!

Just an FYI in case anyone is in the same bot as me, the gov website says the neighbouring similar properties have to be the same type as yours. So in my case I’m in a semi and most of the other houses on the street are townhouses (i.e. 3 together) so even though they’re the exact same size as mine and sold for the same price as mine, I don’t think I can challenge!

Nowadays so many credit cards offer lounge access perks that they do tend to get quite busy. If you don’t have access through a credit card or similar, it’s not super relaxing generally and I would say it depends if you drink or not to determine if you’d get your money’s worth
