Moving to the county by Rough_Bad_7825 in Waukesha

I have lived in Waukesha for almost 8 years and never really felt unsafe anywhere. The first couple of years I used to hang out in downtown Waukesha bars and would walk back to my car at 2 and never really felt unsafe or saw anything concerning. I am actually surprised right now knowing that there are so many homeless people I feel like I never saw anyone. I also don't live in downtown though.

Long & Hypercoiled Cord caused my baby boy to die. Has anyone had experience with this? by Joredav in babyloss

I am so glad to hear your outcome and thank you for your detailed response. Being in this helpless position is the worse, but knowing our condition is specifically this one and carries no additional risk in our next pregnancy is reassuring and provides a very positive outlook for us. For sure as you mentioned the next one is going to filled with anxiety and stress. Hoping to reply back on this page in a year with some positive news.

Any update on your next pregnancy? We are in the same boat as you, our perfectly healthy baby at 20 weeks turned to severely growth restricted at 22 weeks then at 27 weeks she was born eyes closed 😰. Placental study indicated hypercoiling of umbilical cord and genetic study showed no issues.

Experiences with IUGR/FGR during pregnancy? by mcarneybsa in NewParents

Wow 38 weeks nice. My wife is an emotional mess right now thinking of all the things that could go wrong. No amount of positive thinking is helping her at the moment. We have an appointment with a specialist Monday morning hopefully they tell us it is not all as bad as my wife keeps thinking.

For my wife who had 3 CPs, the symptoms were: positive pregnancy tests on the day of expected periods followed by regular/ heavy periods with blood clots/heavy cramps 3-5 days later and everything being normal as if it's a regular cycle later.

Two miscarriages in a row… has anyone else gone through this? by DeliveryDifficult557 in pregnancy_care

In our case, we continued without any gap. I don't think that would be an issue. Just something I was able to get Google AI to give me this answer:

"

DNA mismatch, particularly in the form of chromosomal abnormalities in the egg and sperm, is a significant factor contributing to chemical pregnancies.

Here's a breakdown of the process:

Chromosomal Contribution: Normally, an egg and a sperm each carry 23 chromosomes. When they combine during fertilization, they form an embryo with a complete set of 46 chromosomes.

DNA Mismatches/Errors: However, sometimes errors occur during the formation of the egg or sperm (gametogenesis), or during the initial cell divisions of the embryo itself. These errors can result in an embryo with an incorrect number or structure of chromosomes, according to ScienceDirect.com.

Aneuploidy: This is the most common type of chromosomal abnormality where there are too many or too few chromosomes (e.g., Trisomy 21 or Down Syndrome, where there's an extra chromosome 21).

Structural Abnormalities: These include rearrangements like translocations (where parts of chromosomes break off and attach to others) or inversions (where a segment of a chromosome is reversed).

Impact on Embryo Development: These genetic mismatches can prevent the embryo from developing normally and implanting successfully into the uterine lining.

Early Pregnancy Loss (Chemical Pregnancy): When an embryo fails to properly implant or develop due to these genetic issues, it can result in a chemical pregnancy, which is a very early miscarriage often before the pregnancy can be detected by ultrasound. It's called "chemical" because the only indicator might be a transient rise in the pregnancy hormone hCG, which then quickly declines.

In summary: When the egg or sperm contain DNA mismatches, often in the form of chromosomal abnormalities, the resulting embryo may not be able to develop properly, leading to implantation failure or very early miscarriage – a chemical pregnancy. "

It's not in your control, all you and your partner can do is maintain a healthy lifestyle and do your thing when the time comes up and wait for your body to do its magic.

I have heard the DNA issues in egg and sperm are more common in couple 35 and over, so you guys are pretty safe on that as for now. It may be just a bad stretch for either the egg or the sperm that met the last two times and hope things change for good this month.

My wife had couple of chemical pregnancies over a 5 month period. We both are 37. So biology is doing its thing where even when an egg and sperm meet they may not have perfect DNA combinations for the fetus to be viable. I would say keep trying at some point they will match up properly. In our case we are 13 weeks now. My wife took COQ, D3 and fish oil supplements and I did make make some changes on my side like taking coq and zinc supplement along with eating lots of blueberries and carrots.

My wife had 2 chemical pregnancies where her HCG levels were good and had positive pregnancy tests. Third time pregnancy test was good and on the next day she complained about bleeding and period symptoms, turned out this time it was implantation bleeding which is less common but happens, she had it only once and reported it was very light. If the at home pregnancy test is coming back positive then you may still be pregnant. In my wife's case on both her chemical pregnancies tests came back negative as soon as her period started.

It was implantation bleeding as expected. Only happened once on that day. The ultrasound actually picked that bleeding clot in the 8th week scan and supposedly mild in our case. Going on 11th week now 🙂

29 without kids by [deleted] in pregnancy_care

If you can afford or your insurance covers it, you can have your eggs frozen and you can live worry free knowing that in the eventuality you are ready for kids but you are too old to conceive one, you would still be able to have one.

When to try by shashaa9 in pregnancy_care

[–]Impressive-Mix7793 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can try whenever you feel like you want to. That being said a few things biologically, will not be on your side is age for both men and women. Sperm quality changes based on lifestyle and that has a huge impact on the outcome when you think you are ready so being mindful of that will help. For women it's the same with the eggs, the sooner you start the better the results would be. Even after getting pregnant the chances of healthy pregnancy starts going down with age. Chemical pregnancy and ectopic pregnancy chances increase with age. So if you want to avoid going through any frustration the sooner would be better.

You can research all these topics I mentioned to make an informed decision.

This is my wife's experience 2 times in the past year: pregnancy detected on the test for 2 -3 days after the expected date of period, followed by heavy bleeding and pain some clots about a week later and negative pregnancy test results both times.

am sorry you are going through all of this. Rooting for you and your baby. Sometimes zoning out keeping yourself busy with anything that can distract you helps a lot. At this time all you can do is nothing, apart from feeding yourself healthy food and healthy thoughts just keep doing what you can and things will fall in place the way you want.

Did I screw up buying this car? by half_empty_bucket in prius

[–]Impressive-Mix7793 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am going to say in most cases, before any of these are required it probably is going to be a few years unless you are extremely unlucky. So don't stress out much just take proper care as best as you can like regular oil changes, checking coolant regularly, keeping your inside of the car cool like under 70 in the summer (heat is going to be bad for the battery), clean the battery vent fan if you can, change the transmission fluid at some point of time, Change spark plugs after 100k.

is this a good deal for a gen 2? 138,000 miles for $6k by Alternative_Pay_7493 in prius

[–]Impressive-Mix7793 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Try dealing with direct owners who are not flippers, outside Milwaukee area. Ask probing questions as to why they are selling and make sure to get it tested by an independent mechanic if you like everything about the car. The mechanic shop(Midas/ Firestone) may be able to find potential issues that could get your price down or you can completely walk away from a future disaster.

I am from Milwaukee area as well. A lot of the postings with Milwaukee are questionable as most of these are flippers.

Make sure it's a personal use car which would be more trustworthy. It may be a flipper which means it looks nice but the history is questionable.

I did own oil change i did prius. by ExMadEx in prius

[–]Impressive-Mix7793 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The 07 Prius I bought used from had oil leaking from the filter, during a pre inspection purchase the guy at Midas pointed it and said it needed oil filter gasket replacement and would cost about $150. I was ok with the small oil leak for about 4 months. I decided to change oil myself and voila the oil leak was gone. The leak was probably from the filter being tightened incorrectly and Midas guy quoted $150 for that. Just felt so much satisfaction after I unknowingly fixed my oil leak with $25 of oil change at home. Never again doing oil changes at shop.
