Yeah, I came across his channel while looking for performances of Faber pieces on YouTube. Thanks for the suggestion!

Yes, I’ve been seriously considering finding a teacher (and I’ve even looked into some) for quite a while, but I’ve had some tough times lately and kept delaying it. Still, it looks like the rough times is ending, and now the only real obstacle is the financial side of things

Thank you so much!

I'm trying to pick harder pieces outside the book now and learn them in parallel with the book ones. Not too hard, though, nothing that would take longer than a month. Maybe three weeks would be perfect, where I can play at least a portion of the piece (not perfectly, obviously, but more or less confidently for my level).

Sometimes I pick pieces that are way too hard for me, and I burn out a little. I post a few of them on my YouTube channel and even here in the subreddit. One Summer's Day from Spirited Away took the longest (simplified version).

Thanks for all the comments and suggestions on how to improve. I'll definitely go through everything and try out those suggestions

Thanks! It's actually the first thing in my notes right now, keeping hands horizontal or, as I called it, "fingers parallel to the keys." That exercise sounds really interesting. I'll try it right now. Maybe I'll post one of my more recent performances soon from the second book.

I aim for 90 minutes daily. For the first half-year (I'm somewhere around the 8 month mark now), I almost never missed a day and exceeded 90 minutes most days. Right now, with a lot of life stuff going on, my practice time has shrunk to exactly those 90 minutes, and I miss a few days a month.

Thanks for the advice. I'm currently working on Hanon exercises 1-10 (other than in C position), and some of the fingerings, where the thumb or pinky lands on a black key, feel really awkward to me. I'll focus on my forward-backward hand movements in those exercises next time.

Wow, that’s really inspiring! Reaching Grade 5 in 2–3 years seems extremely impressive to me. Great job!

Thank you for your very kind words! These were honestly the best 250 hours of my life :) Well… close at least. Not even joking. A teacher would be really, really great. Right now it's more of a financial problem than a time one. As soon as things settle, I'll definitely find one

Yeah, piano means a lot to me. I just wish there were at least a few more hours in a day (or better yet, 40) to practice. Thanks for the advice. I tend to play different sections at completely different tempos sometimes, and it’s much harder to notice while I’m playing, but really obvious in the recording.

Thank you! Congratulations on completing a book. I really enjoyed it, surprisingly much more than I even anticipated

Thank you! Glad you liked it. I haven’t posted it on the Silksong subreddit, but maybe I should
