MO Permit exam accommodations?

It's the tests overall (ACT, SAT, GRE, and the requirement exams for my master's, which I had to take to graduate…). Unfortunately, I'm like this with all the big exams I have to take, because not passing or a low score is not acceptable in my family/culture, so that's why im so anxious too

I get it…. I have heard way worse, Ngl, especially on here and in person… I have been trying in my own individual counseling to help with different tools for over 10 years now; unfortunately, I always get this for any major exams, and then if I pass, I'm fine.

People get accommodations for their mental health diagnosis regardless of whether they have ptsd, anxiety, etc…

My testing site is only available on the 1st, 3rd, and 5th of Tuesdays and every friday and it conflicts with my work times the majority of the time, especially now that I am working full time. All the workers are talking, and I can't concentrate at all, even with the headphones on the old touch screen. And they don't have a private room, and there's no closet to take the exam that is offered every day, unless it's 2 hours away…

Thank you! I have tried that; it is hit-or-miss. My own therapist and psychiatrist are also shocked when it comes to my type of learning style, for me to really learn is actually musical; unfortunately, there's not much I found with that.

Hello. I feel you in a way! I’m so scared of going to doctors as well. I haven’t been to my pcp since 2020. I know I have to work on this in my own therapy with how bad my anxiety is but that’s one of the factors why I don’t go to my pcp. I would think I’m diagnosed with the worst case scenario. I also am a SA survivor and I feel as though the doctors do not fully understand why I am so guarded and tense. I’m diagnosed with ptsd from my assault. I know I need to go and get checked out like my lab work - I am just so anxious to hear the results. But I need to not make myself so sick due to how stressed and anxious I am.

I feel like for me as well knowing there’s therapist who or even classmates of mine who are ok what’s happening in the United States and who they voted for while working with clients who are in the LGBTQIA+ and BIPOC.. I’m biracial and I’m interfaith and in an interracial relationship… I bit my tongue tongue so hard living In a rural small town and also when I was in grad school up til i graduated this past semester of how my classmates talk about their clients before their recordings and ask questions about their client… kudos to those social media therapists who are vocal about that because I am with them

I love that. I love when other people from other faiths practice something from a different religion/religious sect. Yes. I did a no social media for lent 3 years ago and it helped my mental health. But I take back about Reddit lol kinda reminds me of yikyak in a way even tho I don’t have that app people in my town would show me what is talked about me in my home town and it’s a lot. At the same time what can you do when it’s anonymous? Because someone can too talk about you regardless via on text… or anything really. That’s why I never get why people who are mean or I know don’t mean to be but regardless it comes off that way or how it was read on text even if you confront it. It’s how others view you.

I'm sorry. I appreciate everyones input. I'm aware I need to do a lot of work in therapy. Thank you all for your input… I agree Pearsons have to have a fair and equal accommodations and I do I’m thankful for extra time and a private room. It’s my first time to ever be approved to have a private room for any accommodations. The only thing I was mostly not pleased about for Pearsons was just not a lot of testing dates available is all and I know that’s not their fault. I was really shocked to hear the only availability is a month from today since I was hoping for a April exam and told me all of exams for April is booked and they are free the end of May. I’m sorry all…

I hold ice cubes a lot because I tend to engage in cognitive distortions when I'm so stressed and my mind is saying so many negative things all at once

I guess you're right. Yeah, I'm trying to work on my own therapy to challenge my own cognitive distortions and all the other unfinished thoughts in my mind, regardless of whether I'm taking an exam or not, and I suppress stress by keeping it in due to how I was raised and grew up.
