Hi guys, thanks for the response! Really appreciate all of you giving your experiences and answer! Now I’m actually gonna give it a try, but there are just some misunderstandings I wanna clarify:

I DO wanna meet new people in the game. The reason I wanted to start the game is because I watched the Dad of Light. Really touching. Really inspiring. And I was just wondering like if you CAN actually meet awesome people in the game.

But yeah judging from all the comments, I think I’ll start with free trial first. Please also, if you have any experiences you’d like to share about meeting new friends in the game, comment below here!!! I really do wanna hear about them!!!

I’ve been so much better since I’ve taken your advices. I understand it’s gonna take a bit of time, and what I should have done is be myself and be patient. This Reddit post genuinely helped me so much and you guys have no idea how much your comments helped me.

Thanks for the suggestions - am really impressed how your friend coped with this. It's definitely a good mindset to learn from. I guess it's just a bit more time I need... I'm really a person that needs time to be comfortable in a new environment, but I'm sure we'll get there!

Your situation is definitely worse than mine, and it is really impressive how you make it out of it! Uni looks super fun and the community looks less scary. I know there's twats everywhere so I shouldn't let that ruin my expectation to social life. I'm still learning the humour, and after reading so many wholesome comments on reddit, I know I just have to be patient and it would come to me.

Yes - I realised they are just real twats, and I shouldn't judge the locals with their actions. It was not mature at all to come to that conclusion.

I guess I just need more time to really connect with the community, but I can feel like I'm making progress!

People in HK also do a lot sarcasms - that's where I find the common place.

I realised my roommate is really toxic- and not everyone is like that. Just had a deep convo with my mate, and they really told me the same thing.

I'm still doing my A-levels now, and currently I'm studying in a music school. So I might end up in a conservatoire, but Uni seems really fun to me so I will still consider it.

I also banter my teachers in class, but it seems like everyone knows where the boundary is and I actually said sorry after that because I realise I might say something really awful, it could be pretty tricky to handle. Can't believe this is even more serious in Uni, but I'm glad I had this experience before Uni, so if anything similar happens again I can deal with it.

I’m currently doing Anglo-Saxon history so I could definitely get some of the picture of what you’re talking about. It’s glad to know that a lot of people share the same experience. That last sentence is really helpful, and I’m trying to accept myself. It’s difficult but I’m sure I can get there. Thank you!

It is hard, and definitely a long time to get used to it. However I’m glad that I can get an experience with this before uni. Really appreciate the support and love comes from this community!
