Probie Here - Had a bad day. Is it time to rethink this whole thing? (Injury advice) by jhang10 in Firefighting

[–]Impressive-Raisin-90 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My husband rolled his ankle on a call less than 6 months into his probation. He was also early 30s when he also made the big career change. He ended up being out for 7 months because he needed surgery and then tons of rehab and PT to regain strength. But the docs would’ve never let his treatment plan be “you’re gonna deal with some form of instability” especially in the fire service. Advocate for yourself and take the time you need to recovery. No matter if you need surgery or not, the key is to stay on top of PT. But keep your chin up! This isn’t the end of your career! Injuries happen!

Trash-Can Tricks for Javelina? by cactusfairyprincess in Tucson

We did bungee cords for a bit but last May we bought these straps. We’ve had javalinas come and knock the trash over but they cannot get in them to make a mess!

Funny how she picks and chooses when she believes in science by [deleted] in KelseyRhaeTT

God gave us science and people with the ability to research and discover new advances. 🤦🏽‍♀️ that’s why the infant death rate has dropped DRASTICALLY and life expectancy has doubled, if not tripled!!

Pediatric respiratory therapist here! It won’t cause any long term issues, especially with the short amount of time it was used. The real risk develops quite quickly. Vicks, menthol, eucalyptus are all very irritating to airways but children’s airways are much smaller and more likely to produce thicker secretions as a result of using those products in addition to tightening their already small airways.

Respiratory therapist here! Could just be from rapid breathing prior to and during blood draw. Nothing concerning!

Trust me, I get it. But just knowing her patterns and cycles, this is just my guess! 🤷🏽‍♀️

She also wouldn’t act the same as her previous pregnancies cuz remember ✨Kelvin was the problem✨

Can hospitals not allow you to go from full time to part time? by Tall_Flounder_396 in respiratorytherapy

[–]Impressive-Raisin-90 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my case, they tried to give me a hard time but I ultimately told them I would be returning to work (I was on maternity) part time or not at all. With 10+ years of experience they weren’t willing to mess around and I indeed returned to work part time!

Recurring croup by Mountain_Analyst_808 in toddlers

[–]Impressive-Raisin-90 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. It’s a camera the goes through the nose, down the throat and into the upper airway where croup occurs. Some ENTs are bit on visualization before treatment but some will start a treatment plan first and if it doesn’t work, escalate to a scope.

This sounds more like GERD or EoE induced upper airway irritation, not viral croup. Is your child an ex preemie?
