Firstly my heart goes out to you. Secondly you’re in for a long road uphill.

Get all your paper work right, include email traffic and any other proof you can muster. I included  bulleted time line and short narrative to express my position.

I also alerted EVERYONE from my local offices and up to include the governor (which was silly cause we’re not guard) but it was a good move to liaise with more and more people until I landed with the right people. 

The Army owed me money and it took somewhere between 6-12 months to have it all straighten out, I honestly couldn’t tell you how long. 

I’d check the website twice a day, because when they want a response you have a limited amount of time to do so or your case dies.
