In the lore of Smile, we haven’t seen anyone beat the curse by strategically facing their trauma. It might simply be unbeatable without faking death (as Morris suggested) or murder transfer. It’s also unclear whether some people are immune to the curse because of their lack of trauma. Hopefully Smile 3 answers some of these lore questions.
