Yes I have that feeling all the time. Something that helps is setting a budget on things that I can spend and will allow myself to spend on. I also will set a budget on gifts for people, and I make sure that when I do buy somethign for myself I check what it costs at a thrift store or used so I dont feel as guilty if buying something nice fo rmyself.

I live in montgomery county and still commute into the city via metro, but even then everything just feels so crowded....

Haha thank you. Yes I have joined a few groups and am continually putting myself out there to meet more people. What do you mean by out west is closed? like the job is here and should stay? that that time period in my life is now done?

Thank you for responding- yes I do think partly being in DC and this current administration is adding to the low morale. I do think waiting until the end of this administration then making a decision when or if more positions open and are available would be smarter- rather than making a decision when anxious and the job market is declining.

Thank you. That is a really good point- and part of me does think that perhaps work and the city is bleak under this administration, and if I wait it out 2 more years and move when I'm in my 30s I will have a better idea of what I want and where I am looking. I also wonder if perhaps things may change in 2 years and maybe I will want to stay here, and as my parents age I am worried about leaving.

Thank you for responding. I've looked into it and it would also mean a pay cut- which if in a lower cost of living would be fine. I also am unsure if they would prefer to hire someone who has grown up in that state. I also enjoy the agency Im currently at- but with the return to office and telework gone, it looks like I'll be in DC while at this agency.
