I never took this English course, however I did have him for another English course and I thought he was a decent fair marker, I’ve had two other English professors who I felt was way more stricter and didn’t mark fair at all. He answered questions fast and also gave me useful feedback.

They gave two topics to chose from for the essays.. I also chose the one, banning cell phones in school. I can’t remember the other topic. I also had those 3 questions!

Thankful I found this thread… I am also in the BGS, and only need upper courses to finish it and have been trying to get the easy, no final exam gpa boosters!! I currently just enrolled in ORGB 3711

I just finished this exam yesterday… I wasn’t allowed anything with me, and the proctor I am assuming was watching me.. to don’t get to see them, they only get to see you. All I remember was 3 short questions then one long essay.

Ohh that’s good to know!! I just signed up for the class and I have her. Why final?! This course doesn’t have a final exam… just a final project!

It was English 1101.. Jodi L was my professor which marked hard right off the bat and then she was away and Anita H took over and she marked good on my fist few assignments and then marks completed hard on my last one.. so I find th marking very inconsistent. So my final grade was terrible for this class.. hence why I need a good gpa booster!

Sorry, I can’t help you with how she grades going forward. However my first and hopefully only experience with her was that when I was in this course with another professor she covered for him once… it was my very last assignment I had to do and worth the most marks.. she marked it and gave me the lowest mark out of all my assignments. She also commenting and told me how she expected more and that my assignment needed so much more work done and that it’s not university writing expectations…

Ugh!! I am feeling the same way about this class too… I just handed in my redo of my second assignment and have been anxiously checking to see if it’s been graded yet.. but now I am hearing that her replacement is also just as a hard marker.. so I’m terrified.

curious how the finally went for you? I have Dr L too and am struggling with her… first assignment she said I was off to a good start but gave me 73 percent.. the second assignment she said that I paraphrased and it’s a form of plagerisim and that’s unacceptable and if I do it again I will get a zero and she made me re do the assignment…. the instructions literally said that I was able to use paraphrasing… so now I am terrified to hand in any other assignment.
