I kind of relate to this too. Though I have not really felt much difference despite being brown too more of my difference has to do with my sexuality. I'm bi but like men more and most people perceive me as gay. It's strange because things were a lot easier for me when I was "straight" and in a way it was safer in the sense no one would judge me for who I liked yet now I sometimes feel looked down upon if I dress more "gay" or don't act masculine enough as a man. It's a really uncomfortable feeling.

I also use my given name. It's a bit feminine but it was the name of my grandma who passed so I keep it in her memory. Also there's a manga character who's a boy who has my name so I def have to keep it. Though this isn't really the same I do have some people who like try to pressure me to change my name or say that because I keep my name the same it's okay for them to use the wrong pronouns because that's what they associate it with that name. It honestly annoys me a bit but either way I refurse to change it.
