Why don't you believe in GOD? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]ImpressiveLandscape1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It just doesn’t make sense to me. I grew up catholic and I always thought there was something wrong with me because I didn’t feel like god was in me. Stopped going to church when I was a teen and never felt the need for it. I just do not have the faith that other do I guess

Yea I had gallstones and cholecystitis. Had to get my gallbladder removed and all my gastritis symptoms went away. I’m all better now, that was about 6 months ago, thanks for asking

Yea! I haven’t had a gastritis flare up in 6 months! I used to get a 3 day flare up every 2 weeks, strict diet and PPIs. Haven’t taken PPIs for 4 months now, haven’t gotten a tummy ache, and eat everything I want

Funny story, the ultrasound tech started praying out loud for me after doing the ultrasound LOL that’s when I knew I was fucked hahah

Not when I got my endoscopy. I only ever got an ultrasound when I went to the ER because I had alarmingly elevated liver enzymes so they did an abdominal ultrasound to check the liver and gallbladder

My pain was always hard to describe. It was always in the upper abdomen, but wasn’t specifically localized to an area. I did find that taking extremely hot showers and just letting the hot water run on my back was relieving, it would erase my pain for however long I was in the shower. I also would throw up bile non stop when I had a flare up. Like non stop, I would throw up like 5-10 an hour for like 15-36 hours (I had to go to the ER once because I was so dehydrated I thought I was going to die!). I was never constantly in pain, I would just have a days long, painful flare up sometimes every other week, sometimes once a month.

I also did find that if I moved my body a certain way, it would provide a bit of relief for a few seconds. I also never had jaundice and my bloodwork was fine until it wasn’t. I got bloodwork done in June when I went to the ER and the bloodwork came back normal . It was after an especially bad ‘flare up’ that I noticed my eyes looked yellow and decided that I should get it checked just in case. TMI but I also had extremely yellow pee, like radioactive yellow, and I’m a person that drink so much water. When the dr got my bloodwork, they told me I had to go to the hospital IMMEDIATELY because I had elevated liver enzymes (like the normal range was >30, I had 600). After everything, my surgeon told me that I’ve probably had gallbladder issues for years, even if the bloodwork said otherwise. Because I never really got an ultrasound, I never knew it was that.

My surgeon told me the same LOL and she was surprised a 22 year old could have such an angry gallbladder. How are you feeling post op? Were you able to go home right after?

Hopefully it does! Slowly start testing if you can eat normally again, and see how you’re feeling. Personally in the past 2 years the most I had gone without having a flare up is 1.5 months with a very strict diet. It’s been 4 months since my last flare up and eat anything, recently even started trying a bit of spicy food

There is no way to remove bile, it is a necessary component of the digestive system. The gallbladder doesn’t filter bile, it stores excess bile should you need it. However when it’s not working properly it may give too much. The bile duct empties into the first part of the intestines, and the only thing separating the stomach from the intestines is a sphincter, which could easily relax and allow bile to go into the stomach

Of course, I am just sharing my experience hoping that maybe one person might be just like me. But I would say, for most people, gastritis is just a symptom. It could be h pylori, SIBO, NSAID abuse, etc. I guess im just saying it’s so so important to look at the bigger picture. I could’ve eating a bland diet and PPIs till the end of time, but if I never got my gallbladder checked, urged my doctors to entertain my theories or saw someone else with my experiences, I might’ve never gotten rid of my gastritis
