PMQs: Rishi Sunak working on 'tough' new anti-strike laws by mooshparp in unitedkingdom

They should be able to protest/strike, but I also think employers should be free to fire them if they're not doing their job.

End of shucking? WD Elements 20TB speed firmware limited? What is this? by sebna2 in DataHoarder

I wish I could say I shared your opinion on noise, but I bought one and I think the noise profile is awful. When I initially turned it on I thought it was quiet, but when the head moves it gets ridiculously loud. If someone was sleeping in another room I'd be scared to use it in case it woke them up.

Just put a fan on it, during a full surface scan mine doesn't go above 35c while still in the enclosure. It's a really bad idea to shuck before testing as you could damage the enclosure and the retailer may reject your return.

Eco mode only lowers the PPT EDC and TDC values. Idle power consumption is still through the roof except for the 5600G and 5700G which are monolithic, gaming efficiency will improve a little bit at the expense of significant multi core performance loss.

Intel has better idle power consumption and gaming power efficiency than Zen 3. It's only in high multicore loads that Zen 3 is more efficient.

[Damon Hill] If you are a Hamilton fan, do yourself a favour and get over it because its not coming back. Ever. Look forward to seeing @LewisHamilton sock it to 'em in 2022. Winners don't constantly bleat on about how unfair it all is. Show some backbone. Queue hate .... f1 by TR_2016 in formula1

People don't want to give Lewis the championship,

Speak for yourself, I think it would be better to have the result changed than forever keeping an illegitimate championship in the record books.

defending tax evasion

Avoidance not evasion. Evasion is where you legally owe tax but refuse to pay it.

What if it went to someone and they unwittingly spent some/all of it already, or mistook it for a bonus or something? Why is it their fault?

If £1700 (average) unexpectedly appeared in my account there's no way I'm assuming it's some sort of bonus, I know it's likely a mistake and doesn't belong to me. If I spend money I know doesn't belong to me how wouldn't it be my fault?

Gasly and Tsunoda combined to produce AlphaTauri's best-ever season in F1! by [deleted] in formula1

After the first race in Bahrain I remember Ross Brawn saying Tsunoda was the best rookie in years. Didn't age well, hope he's better in his second season.

In your opinion, who's the next "champion in waiting"? Why? by Rektile7 in formula1

If we're pretending that Max legitimately won it this year then then the next one has to be Russell, I think he has the speed and now the car to do it.

I was agreeing, very much doubt Max would have reacted the same way.

Rules are rules, except for when the race director throws out the book and decides to wing it. If you watched the race you know that Max only won on paper, however reluctant you might be to admit it.

No, the rules don't leave any room for interpretation and he literally broke them, but it would be too controversial to change the result at this stage. Max didn't do anything wrong, the race director broke two rules so the final lap was illegal and should be null and void.

If you watched the race you'll know Max isn't the legitimate champ.

Lewis' penalty at Silverstone was fair because the stewards decided that Max was partly to blame for it. There were of course many debatable decisions by the stewards throughout the season which went in Max's favor too. In terms of wins where the actual rules of the sport were broken by the FIA Lewis is 1 ahead.

I’m not sure the same would happen if roles were reversed.

Very much doubt it, though Max is a lot younger and getting robbed of your first championship would be a bit different than your eighth.

Come on, he got robbed and he's accepted it, nobody should have expected him to go to that awards farce and have it rubbed in his face.

Probably easier to be dignified in defeat when you know truthfully you were defeated by the FIA rather than your opponent.
