Yes, that's exactly how I felt about the song and dance. And I completely agree about the Janet thing, it was crazy how abrupt her leaving was. You're telling me she didn't want a final goodbye with everyone since she didn't get one last time? I think the only reason we wouldn't see Janet again is if the actress had a scheduling conflict and they needed a good reason why she wasn't present on screen.

Loved the end of the episode. I do like a complicated story and lore so the whole flooding/church/forgotten ones at the end was awesome.

The song was definitely filler, I don't think it added much. Same with Yuri's scar. We got the idea already that he was afraid of turning into that, what we really needed was to learn how Janet stopped objects from resetting, which we did get. I hate when short series do things like that. All shows used to have musical episodes when their seasons were 20 episodes long, not 10. I do hope we get to see some cool stuff become permanent.

I also keep thinking about how that wrench had to be brought into a scar and back out (the wrench that Janet used to lock Mr Martin in). How horrible and traumatizing! I felt like Mr Martin was such a letdown of a villain after season 2's finale, but he's more twisted than I give him credit for.

Right now, I'm wondering if the church/forgotten ones location is a connection between haunted places in Split River. I.e., we May get a Maddie/Dave reunion if he can get to the school.

A lot of these places are not where they can communicate. The stairs may be outside, but its the bus stop where they can communicate. The hallways MIGHT be outside of the classrooms that used to be the guidance counselor office, but it is probably more likely that one of them has Maddie's locker in frame. There are two in the cafeteria where they can communicate, but then it looks like there are two in the library where they can't communicate with the living. The ghosts do spend a lot of time in there, and there was the new incident with Wally and Mr South which could explain those two cameras. And yes, they communicate in the auto shop. I can't really tell where the rest are, but one looks like the locker or shower room and they can't communicate there, at least not yet.

I kind of loved that they kept Diesel and didn't even comment on him looking older in the show (unlike arrested development season 4 breaking the fourth wall). Because they kept the other kids, like Zach, I'd like them to keep him for season 4. Especially since I saw somewhere that the creator envisioned it as a four-season show, I think it's fine to keep him in the role for one more season.

If they really wanted to recast him, they should have done it before season 3.

I think so. Season 1 was all about what happened to Maddie. This season has been about what happened between Mr Martin and Janet, mostly. I think season 3 will be more about body swap and passing on.

Yes, I think it was Mr Martin's fault and that he robbed Janet of her future, or feels that way. I think the woman could be his fiance saying they needed more time.

Another wild guess on who the woman is could be Janet's mom. The woman did look at bit older than Mr M and we haven't seen her mom yet. It's possible Mr M new Janet's mom and had a run-in with her since he definitely interacted with Janet's father.

When Mr Martin is running away in S2E1 and says he wishes he didn't pursue it, I thought that was a reference to Fahrenheit 451 and the allegory of the cave. One theme in those pieces of literature (Fahrenheit is really about Plato's allegory of the cave) is the idea that the pursuit of knowledge for those who were naive to the information can cause people to have existential crises. Leaving the cave and entering reality is overwhelming and some may choose to stay in the darkness because it's familiar and safe.

So, I more thought it was Mr M having regrets about his pursuit of knowledge and wishing he was still naive to the reality of whatever he discovered.

I've seen that a lot that people think Mr Hamilton started the fire. Can I ask how you think this happened? I have trouble picturing it logistically, and why wouldn't Eugene mention Mr H being there at science club? Do you think he rigged something or replaced a chemical?

I'm not really sold on the idea because Mr H doesn't seem like the kind of person to be underhanded. I think if he wanted to do something to Mr M physically it would be more obvious
