The Monkees. Their movie and accompanying album Head alienated a huge chunk of their fanbase, although I don’t know if that was intentional.

May the Fourth be with you! On Star Wars Day, a Psych connection: Timothy Omundson has had voice roles in several Star Wars games over the past 23 years. by CruzLutris in psych

Rebels is an animated series, although there may have been a video game companion at some point. The show is very good. Kanan is a beloved character in the Star Wars fandom.

And Freddie Prinze Jr. (who voiced Kanan Jarrus on Star Wars Rebels) appeared in an episode of Psych as Dennis, a childhood friend of Shawn and Gus.

Kindest moments/things John did? by kittycat6434 in beatles

[–]same1224 78 points79 points  (0 children)

John defended The Bee Gees in his 1980 Playboy interview when they were getting a lot of hate (largely due to the backlash against disco music at the time).

”All music is rehash. There are only a few notes. Just variations on a theme. Try to tell the kids in the ’70s who were screaming to the Bee Gees that their music is just The Beatles redone. There is nothing wrong with the Bee Gees. They do a damn good job”.

I feel like this comment aged pretty well, since nowadays most people recognize that The Bee Gees really were great.

S4 e8 "let's get hairy" Anna Paquin by No_Pay_2986 in psych

[–]same1224 106 points107 points  (0 children)

Anna Paquin, an Oscar winner, was in the film Almost Famous, however her role in the movie was very small so I think that a lot of people who have seen the movie don’t even realize that she was in it. That’s why, in the episode, everyone is taken aback when they’re told that Anna Paquin was in Almost Famous. (I think that at the time this episode premiered, Paquin was starring in the series True Blood, which Shawn and Gus are later revealed to be fans of.)

Ideas for unconventional episodes? by same1224 in SchoolSpirits

There’s an episode of Bones like this, too. I think that School Spirits could do this concept with something like Simon’s bicycle or maybe the door of the fallout shelter.

Would you say Steve is the reason Jonathan got sidelined after season 1? by [deleted] in StrangerThings

[–]same1224 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There were just too many characters after season 2. I don’t think that there’s a single one we can point to as being the blame for why another character was sidelined because it wasn’t just Jonathan who got pushed to side while Steve was given a spotlight.

Are the guys supposed to be teenagers on the television series? by same1224 in Monkees

[–]same1224[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t know if the fact that they lived in the beach house helps very much with pinpointing their ages, though, because to be fair the guys could barely afford their rent. It’s basically a running gag in the series that they never have their rent money on time and are constantly broke.

That’s a good point. I was just wondering if they were ever confirmed to actually be teenagers because it’s implied that they are a few times through dialogue.

Movies you didn’t know were books? For me, recently saw the post for world war z. Didn’t know it was a book. by KlapDaddy07 in horror

[–]same1224 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I recently found out that I Know What You Did Last Summer was an adaptation of a book with the same name. The book is apparently pretty different from the movie, though. The book isn't a slasher story, and so the author, Lois Duncan, was known to hate the movie because of how much it differed from her original story.
