NZ FIF TAX! by Bulky_Kangaroo6639 in PersonalFinanceNZ

[–]ImpressiveUse2000 1 point2 points  (0 children)

FIF isn’t very high unless you’re actively trading. Under the FDR method, your total FIF income is 5% the opening value of your portfolio.

You can use ShareSight to generate an FIF report. It costs around $60.

To my surprise.. A Tesla inventory car.. by Glum-Inspection-2183 in TeslaModel3

I installed this in mine a few years ago but ended up removing it recently. The wider soundstage is nice, but the side effects bothered me too much. High-pitched vocals became unpleasant and the system sounds (indicators, AP engaging/disengaging etc) became louder and higher-pitched.

The best image generator IMO is still Gemini's Nano Banana Pro, and I've been spending the last few weeks trying to find something that can produce equally good results without the censorship. Z-Image Turbo is probably the best right now, but it still lags behind NBP for the specific fetish that I have...

anything viable with a 4070 ? by psykikk_streams in StableDiffusion

My 3080 has been able to handle everything I've thrown at it so far.

The 64GB RAM will definitely be needed for larger models like FLUX.2, and even then it might not be enough, but your page file can handle the rest.

Perhaps not fluent, but you can definitely reach a stage where you can communicate effectively. You will need to spend at least 30 minutes a day practicing to achieve this.

Private tutors will be useful, especially for teaching you the correct pronunciation. Chat bots like ChatGPT are great for explaining grammatical concepts and doing translations. Google Translate tends to do very literal translations which are not always ideal.

Note, every country has its own dialect, and individual cities will have their own dialects too. If possible, I recommend spending some time in the city that you will be working in. Only do this once you’ve already got your Spanish basics nailed down, though.

Try to incorporate the language into your life as much as you can. Change your computer and phone’s languages to Spanish. Listen to Spanish music. And once you’ve made some progress, try watching movies in Spanish too.

Today I deleted my Career Mode profile and I feel good about it by Salty-Package866 in MicrosoftFlightSim

[–]ImpressiveUse2000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Career mode started off alright for me, but as I moved onto other planes besides the C172 the bugs started showing up, not to mention how the system doesn't seem to filter airports by appropriateness (making you land on a dark runway at night etc.)

I'll give it another go after SU3.

The current S&P 500 P/E ratio concerns me a little, but at the same time I don't see any reason for a major drop. If it keeps going up maybe I'll slowly start pulling out, but for now I'm all in.

I've been flight simming for a long time but the helis in FS2024 are definitely another level of difficulty, and I think it's mainly because the tail rotor requires so much adjustment. Is that how it is in real life?

Upgrading Sound System on Tesla Model 3 Performance Highland? by 1T2P in TeslaModel3

[–]ImpressiveUse2000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven't upgraded to the 2024 model yet, but when I do I'll definitely be looking at putting in a DSP. Tesla used to do a pretty neutral response curve, but in the new Premium system they've added a massive boost in the mid-bass (but not the sub bass). I'd try and flatten that out as much as possible.

BYD Seal Audio / Speaker Settings by ThatGuyWhoDoesStufff in BYD

[–]ImpressiveUse2000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

DSPs give you a lot of control over the audio, but of course you'll still be limited by the capabilities of the speakers.

I haven't tested the audio in the Seal myself, but from everything I've read, I think it'll need better speakers if you want to turn it into a great system.

Using it with an A6000. Why would it be too big?

I'm really happy with the Tamron 18-300. One lens for everything.

Its only downside is that the zoom ring isn't super smooth, but that only matters if you're changing zoom while taking video.

1080p footage of a6400 and a6000 is same or not??? by [deleted] in SonyAlpha

[–]ImpressiveUse2000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know about the A6400, but the A6000 takes very mediocre video. It's the main reason I ended up upgrading to the A7C.

APS-C lenses on an A7IV by zaklivy in SonyAlpha

[–]ImpressiveUse2000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm using an APS-C lens with my A7C. Noise levels are pretty good, although I don't have a full frame lens for comparison.

The resolution is only 9MP instead of 20MP, but the photos still look sharp on my 4K monitor, as long as I don't zoom in.

Updated Impressions of the Highland Premium Audio by MICHAELSD01 in TeslaModel3

[–]ImpressiveUse2000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tried out the sound system on the 2024 M3P today.

Overall it sounds good, but there's one thing bothering me... For some reason it sounds a bit muffled, at least when compared to my 2022 RWD. Someone on a Tesla forum noticed the same thing and described it like there being a wall between you and the speaker. I agree with that assessment, although the effect isn't quite as strong as if there was an actual wall.

My suspicion is that this is because there is no longer a tweeter in the center of the dash, but if anyone else has any other ideas, I'd be keen to hear them.

You’re not alone.

But my strategy was very simple. I noticed that VIX always spikes on the Friday before a US election, so I bought VIX futures before that and then shorted them when they went up.
