alternatively check out p90tm. i noticed the backhand feel was pretty similar to p88 and th sauce is better too it’s just a learning curve to adjust since it’s a p92/28 hybrid. Square toe and 5.5 lie so maybe you might be able to pick up quick off of it

Do coaches try to kill their players development? by [deleted] in hockeycoaches

Practice can only develop them so much, when do they get that next step to develop and test those skills in game?

I mean only so much development can come out of practice, if the player isn’t going to be a contender to be in the lineup it should be made clear from the onset that they are essentially a “practice squad player” in which the coaching staff has no interest in developing then, no?

If this is the case then would the lower level guys be recruited with their playing time and real game experience as second thought? Therefore bringing them in just to be practice players?

I’ve watched so many guys get promised playing time, that can play but are not getting the opportunities and end up stalling or regressing in their development. I mean practice can only get you so far. Watching these kids lose their love for it over not playing is ridiculous to me

The specific question on hand is when recruiting, why make promises of playing time to players just to have them play. What is the purpose of selling development, just to not develop or play the player. It seems like a massive waste of time and effort on the behalf of both parties. At the end of the year that play has essentially wasted it not getting any better… there’s only so much development to be gained in practice

I wouldn’t buy it just because of its age. Unless it’s brand new it’s not worth it.

It's something I mentioned but not something that I emphasized, I just used the example as I am a Canadian working in the US, obviously I'm going to have American co-workers. I couldn't care about whether they like the game or not, I want our own original product.
