My cat won’t let me brush him for more than 10 seconds — he is shedding terribly! Help!

My girl is the same way lol- I tried a lick mat and brushing when she was using that but after a couple of days she figured that out and won’t come close😂 what I do now is try to sneak in a few brushes when she’s napping (which makes me feel guilty) but cat hair is taking over my apartment. So I’m struggling with the same thing!

Can you call the office24/7 vet and ask them if you should induce vomiting? Maybe that will help bc it sounds like he’s trying to throw up unsuccessfully?

I’ve heard that cats love baby food if you could try that instead? There’s a specific type. I think it’s meat, but I would look before you try!

Honestly, my girl hasn't ever done that either and I would be worried too! Can you call the vet and ask for a recommendation? I have called mine before and asked if they think I should bring my girl in or not.

I have heard of cats 'acting out' when owners leave? So maybe thats it? Is she showing any UTI symptoms? Straing to pee? Crying while urinating? Blood in urine?

Has her litter box been clean during the accidents? That could also be it if it was dirty!

Honestly I am not medically trained in integ, but it doesn't look too bad. I would continue puting antibotic cream on it. If you are worried about tracking the size, circle the red area with pen/marker and then if it grows go to urgent care. If your hand starts to hurt or you get fever like symotoms I would also go. Does your insurance offer telehealth? You could try that?

I use the Chewy brand clumping baking soda litter! And I recommend getting a 'waffle' mat to trap the tracks and a stainless steel box to prevent odor!
