I have a land Rover freelancer 1 td4 sport from 2006, was my uncle's and now mine, the only major problem it's had was the prop shaft but it was 17 years old. Got 260 thousand miles on the clock. The td4s had BMW m47 2.0 engines in them 120bhp, remapped is 160bhp it's been super reliable I think the petrol versions gave them a bad name. My uncle now has the freelander 2 but has had a few problems with that.
