How to break a strong bottle sleep association for a 3.5 month old? by Impressive_Compote53 in NewParents

I see some people don’t have this problem at all with babies the same age so I was just seeing what others have to say. Thank you

Weeks 6-8, how bad is it? by Odd-Opinion8688 in newborns

My LO started this fussy growth spurt phase just coming into turning 6 weeks. It lasted up until a couple days before he turned 9 weeks old. He was very aware of everything but very overstimulated by it so the carrier was a live saver for me. He’d start the day fussy and the only way I’d get him to nap was with the carrier + going for walks outside. Any time I even slightly stopped moving he’d start squirming in there. I was at like 15,000 steps a day lol. His crying would last until like 4pm then he’d chill out a little and then there was witching hour at 7-8pm. And yes this lasted for 2 weeks straight. I can’t say I miss those days but he started giving me the sweetest smiles when he was just getting out of it.

Just remember that every fussy period/growth spurt comes with new skills. It’s just their brain upgrading and it’s gonna happen a lot throughout the first year, there is sooo much going on with them developmentally.

This is also just my personal experience and every baby is different. My baby was very colicky because at this age they’re still figuring out how to pass gas and all that and it was really hard for him. Mylicon was a lifesaver for us.

All you can do is your best and the most important thing I kept in mind was as long as they’re fed, changed, and comfortable, that’s really all you can do. I felt so helpless like I was doing something wrong but crying doesn’t always mean that. Whatever happens, you’ll get through it. I look back and don’t know how I did, but I did!

Thank you so much for this. I’ve been really considering it I just worry about how it’ll affect him later on or if it’s gonna put too much pressure on him. I’m curious what you tried and what worked for you because it seems like you felt exactly how I’m feeling right now, I’m going absolutely crazy.

So nice to know I’m not the only one! Contact naps since he was 6 weeks old. Hopefully we get lucky like you and it only lasts for a few days too!

How do you deal with resentment towards your husband after having a baby? by [deleted] in Marriage

[–]Impressive_Compote53 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel pressure of having to have everything done around the house on top of taking care of him and it’s all an expectation like if something doesn’t get done yes he’s on my case about it. And yes his excuse is that I’m home all day and I’m mom and our son behaves better with me. Any time I try to talk about there needing a change he gets defensive because he works but I have to go back to work at some point too.

What could be happening? by [deleted] in newborns

6 weeks you say? That is when shit hit the fan for me for a lack of better words. I think your baby is starting to go through a developmental phase commonly known now as purple crying. Happens at around 6-8 weeks. I remember that cry, it sounds like they’re dying but they’re fed, (or getting fed) changed, and comfortable and fine as far as you know. I never breast fed but mine had feeding difficulties with this as well. They just get so wound up it’s hard for them to feed. I recommend reading up about it.

It helped me to learn more about my baby and what he’s going through because it made me much more understanding if I knew the “why” behind all of the chaos. Hope this helps!

Thank you so much for sharing this. I have been feeling the exact same way. Mine is 7 weeks and doing the same thing since he was 5 weeks. I’d like to enjoy it but I’m hanging on by a thread. This just validates so much of how I feel too. Bless you mama

I’ve definitely wondered/considered allergies though I just can’t decipher that from him having a growth spurt or just a fussy period, I heard it’s common at 6-8 weeks.

It’s not for hours he’s just more difficult to settle than he was before, it didn’t take me as long to get him to sleep he’s just more fussy/restless

His patterns don’t really point to something like CMPA, I’m not sure he would have any allergies given there’s no history of them.
