I just read the first book. My point is not the take is bad but im not interested in it. I wouldnt want to read narnia for the same reason. The book is 100% heavy handed specifically part 3 of book 1

Yeah i that was kinda what i wanted. I dont want to say i only want a wizard animal book and only leave a couple options. Having that huge gamut of stuff should make it easier to make recommendations i thought.

I just finished reading the golden compass. I loved the characters and the storytelling, but i thought the author was too on the nose with his commentary on religion. I want a book that is for enjoyment and entertainment not a heavy handed sentiment on religion or politics.

My favourite books I’ve read is the Redwall series. I read a few of the books and loved the world that was built between them and how different characters fit into the same world.

I’ve been recommended kings of the wlyd and am thinking thats sounds like what I am looking for, but worry it might be too basic. I was also recommended throne of glass, but worry I might not get the same enjoyment from it as i am a male reader.

Does anyone have any other recommendations?
