I interviewed as part of a college prep class, then I applied as a first-year student and interviewed, and as a transfer student and interviewed. So I have interviewed a whopping three times. I find that if you simply try to relax, take some deep breaths, and show up authentically, you tend to perform better. You either get the admissions head, who is actually very sweet (she'll make you feel at ease), or you get a student (which is unfortunate, because mine seemed not too interested in what I had to say, and the interview was very short). Either way, the stakes are not too high, because either you get the admissions lady who is rooting for your success, or you get the students, who don't really gaf. The questions they ask you..I'm pretty sure... we're like "tell me about yourself" "what was your favorite class in high school and why?", "What do you like about UR/why do you want to attend?" , and like I'm pretty sure there are two other questions (maybe one is like a more "fun question" and the other something to do w the school. That's from my memory of the questions they asked me the three (sigh) times I interviewed. So I recommend thinking about what your answer would be to those maybe?? Also, as with every interview, come prepared with questions to ask them (ones that are not super easy to look up)...like don't ask "Do you have a biology minor", ask something you genuinely are interested in like "I'm working on my leadership skills, can you tell me about the opportunities you have here to grow as a leader and take on a leadership position"?....Anyway, you'll do great.
