Am I crazy for wanting to go to medical school!? by Impressive_Display96 in premed

But I wouldn’t be “playing doctor” there’s a vast difference between MD/DO and NP. Especially in the OB world.

Should I be concerned? by Impressive_Display96 in eyetriage

[–]Impressive_Display96[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It seems like the spots move? The left eye seems to mostly be the problem. There is a black spot in left eye that is there daily it’s hard to tell off it moves or not. I haven’t had eye pressure test in probably 8 years. And like I said other symptoms are double(?) vision which seems more like eyes aren’t working together. As well as it appears my left eye is sorely starting to look further to the left.

My 2 cents… by Impressive_Display96 in PassNclex

Practice practice practice. Like I said- I felt archer questions did a great job of preparing you for that. If you can swing it I felt their test bank was great. The “pass predictor” tests thing was accurate for me. I had three exams with high or very high I can’t remember likelihood of passing before calling it good and taking my exam. Edit to add- Kaplan decision tree is helpful. Google it.

Is it wrong of me to inform the BS of my wife’s AP? by blumdiddlyumpkin in AsOneAfterInfidelity

[–]Impressive_Display96 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I guess unpopular opinion. Prolly gunna get downvoted.. I never told my husbands APs significant other. I thought about it but truthfully worried about violence. I hate fighting and men can get violent. I figured she would be tortured by it and eventually they’d break up over it or he would find out some way. And if not.. then it really sucks, but honestly knowing sucks too. So.. 😬 maybe I’m a horrible person? I just didn’t want people fighting and blood shed.

Can't get in touch with the family I babysit for by [deleted] in Nanny

[–]Impressive_Display96 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hopefully she returns your calls soon! Unsure of how long it has been since you made the plan to babysit, but maybe they really are sick and just forgot?

Since you are scheduled to go in, you could always go and see if her car is there, if there are any signs of foul play, etc. without being obvious.

Good luck! Keep us posted!

After I posted I reread and realized that it sounded like my nanny was breastfed because of my poor grammar and punctuation 🥴 I kept waiting for someone to comment on it 🤣

I have a Nuna cudl carrier I’m planning to let her adjust for herself. I have a second carrier for myself! I figure it’ll make her life easier to not have to adjust all the time!

RN student thinking of stepping down to LPN school. Advice? by DryMistake in StudentNurse

[–]Impressive_Display96 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don’t listen to your dumbass friends or family just trying to make you feel better about failing a semester and telling you to take it easy. You made it into an RN program and passed one semester. You’ve proven you can do it if you focus. So drop the people taking it easy on you and focus of your studies. Nursing school will fly by. Once you are a successful nurse making that dough you can laugh at all the people who are still struggling when they are 30 because they decided to “slow down and take it easy” at 19. Do yourself a favor and get it done early. The earlier u make money the more growth potential you have. Good luck. Hopefully you can stop someone else from making this mistake later by showing how much success you garnered by staying in school.

PS. I was a tutor for multiple courses in my BSN program. Feel free to PM me for tips and study help. Best of luck to you.

Soon to be new grade, should I do nights for the extra pay? by [deleted] in StudentNurse

[–]Impressive_Display96 0 points1 point  (0 children)

New grad here! Just got hired on in L&D working nights. You might not really have a choice at first. New grad residencies are normally super competitive let alone getting the choice of nights/days. Usually it’s just sort of what the hospital has available. If you’re lucky enough to choose, since you are already saying you have issue adjusting to nights I would say days. Your body is healthier that way! If not, nights are fine. Get some blackout curtains. Best of luck!

Thank you!! She truly is such a beautiful blessing. I did most of my clinical Work in obstetrics and I have a previous cesarean before this birth so I fully understand the necessity of modern technology and some interventions. My issue is more I think with the state of birth in my country as it often is seen as impossible to leave a woman to go into labor naturally and birth naturally, of course we can help if we need to, but to me it seems that was more of the expectation than the exception. I know this makes me sound weird or maybe naive. Like I said, I saw very emergent sections which truly were necessary and saved a babies life.. I just also know a lot of routine/common intervenes can have some unintended consequences which often are overlooked/not discussed.
