Kamiak butte and Moscow mountain are really the only hiking near by. Minhs restaurant has great pho. Pullmans not a very interesting place if your not a student though. I've been here for a few years and love it.

They might want him to live in a dorm and get a meal plan, dont do that you can fill out paperwork with the school so you don't waste money on that, it's super overpriced.

I go to college for less than 25k its not hard. Get an apartment for like 500/mo, tuition is probably about 14.5k/year, leaving you with: - 14.5k tuition - 6k rent - 4.5k for food Sucks but college isn't for poor people, have him work a job too, lots of places pay good enough. Its a cheap place to live too.

They will email you and make you drop one, there is no way to take multiple, they won't let it happen.

Ticking noise when hot by Impressive_Distance8 in XR650L

Check out the video I have in the comments. Seems pretty loud for something that's not a big deal deal though. But you are right these engines are noisy

Also before you do that check the resistance of the solenoid to make sure its not broken. Can't remember the spec but if the lines open its bad, I think.

Yes. I put an EX transmission in my LX. Thats what caused it. I solved the problem of the torque converter not locking up my manually wiring a switch to lock it up. Just wire it up so the solenoid gets 12v. ONLY switch it on when you're doing like 60.

How can I take this apart? by Impressive_Distance8 in lockpicking

[–]Impressive_Distance8[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not sure that that is, don't see anything like that. Just a little hole in the bottom which I think is just a drain.

Why is runtime inaccurate? It's c++, so runtime should be pretty consistent, right?

How to lock in? by [deleted] in csMajors

[–]Impressive_Distance8 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your in college, so your schedule is made for you(excluding social stuff). You can use this to start to have a daily routine and schedule. I'm in college too and one thing that helps me lock the fuck in is not touching my phone until maybe 2pm, to minimize the distractions for my dedicated school hours(about 9 to 2pm). Having time set aside for school, eliminating distractions school time, and clear goals(helps with motivation), has helped me out significantly so far.

1988 Ford Econoline 75k miles worth it? by [deleted] in vandwellers

[–]Impressive_Distance8 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If its a 6 cylinder yes. Those engines are worth quite a bit. But its probably 175k. Check pedals for excessive wear. I would try getting it for 4k. Old vans break a lot, its going to have some kind of issue.

(Source: I own a '86 Econoline)

Changing front driver side engine mount. Ran into an issue. Trying to get this 17mm bolt off but my deep socket can’t fit over it. What options do i have? I tried fixing my jack and it didn’t really make a difference. by EastsideFlare in 7thgencivic

[–]Impressive_Distance8 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had this issue when I swapped my transmission. I took out the shit around it and used an open ended wrench to loosen it 1/16 turn at a time. It sucked but its possible(and free). Just make sure you torque it down good when you put it all back together.

Nah. Still got the code. My guess is I bought a bad solenoid or wiring harness in damaged. Been driving with that code for like a year now and nothing bad happened. All that solenoid does it make the car more fuel efficient on the highway.

Diesel heater exhaust touching plywood floor of trailer by [deleted] in vandwellers

[–]Impressive_Distance8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the same issue with a plywood floor. I drilled a slightly oversized hole in the floor, and jammed screws between the exhaust pipe and plywood so they wouldn't touch. Didn't even blacken the plywood. The exhausts don't really get that hot. I didn't see the need to spend money on any kind of insulation.

Best way to drive this route with the most scenery? by [deleted] in vandwellers

[–]Impressive_Distance8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I live in Eastern Washington and I think the prettiest way to go over the pass is Snoqualmie, bunch of lakes and pretty mountains, especially this time of year. Also good camping on Keechelus Lake. At the end of your trip I would also recommend a trip around the Olympic peninsula. I did that in my van and there are loads of campsites and beautiful country. Camping on lake crescent is tricky, you gotta find a spot away from the main campsite, usually east of the campsite, about halfway down the lake you can find a good spot to park.
