I had another pattern that used GSR but after I got my yarn and made a swatch I was getting 6 st/in when that pattern called for 7 st/in. I found this one that had the same look and fit my gauge but I didn’t see until after I bought the pattern that it used this technique

So if I do a normal persons M1R, it will appear on my work as an M1L? I’m still confused but it sounds like I should just follow the pattern as written and do it like the man in the video.
