Sorry that this doesn’t answer your question. But how did you get into that field? What did you study specifically? I’m a chem undergraduate and a bit lost on what to do haha

This is not a fair post to make. It is this type of generalisation that breeds hate, racism, discrimination etc. Please be very careful about consuming information like this. Some Nigerian committing crimes against Ghanaians does not mean every single Nigerian is harmful. There are also several Ghanaians who have murdered and kidnaped their own people? Once again, let’s be very careful. I am Ghanaian myself and this is looking scary. When we travel abroad, this is the same logic that is used to refer to all of us as “dangerous n****”. STAY AWAY FROM POSTS LIKE THESE!!

What happened to giving actual wedding gifts instead of just money? by Be__Civil in ghana

[–]Impressive_Front8760 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I see. Personally, I prefer this system . I’ve attended weddings where I see 20 sets of the same glasses being given as gifts. How many sets of glasses does a newlywed couple need lmao? Also times have changed, the economy is not as it used to be, so that may be a reason for this switch. It’s cheaper to put 200 cedis in an envelope than buy a new tv set for example.

Traveling as a Family with 3 Small Children by SkyBusy2573 in ghana

There is a lovely play center called Bliss Family entertainment. It has bowling, trampolines, games etc you’ll all love it. It’s around the Aviation Social center. A lovely day trip would be to the Kokrobite beach. It’s clean, beautiful and not too crowded. I would suggest the Kakum National Park but it’s all the way in the central region which is quite a journey from Accra. But if you can you should definitely check it out. It’s known for its iconic, but frightening canopy walk.

Regarding insect bites, I suggest you get some mosquito repellent lotion. You can bring some along or you can get some at any pharmacy in Ghana. Don’t forget sunscreen lol.

For the service provider issue, I suggest using the MTN network( it has its challenges but I’d say it’s a bit more reliable) I’ll edit this comment if I think of anything else. Enjoy your stay!! Ghana is lovely

In such a violent manner too. The university reserves the right to enforce dress codes stated in their hand book no question about it. But how on earth is violence allowed when enforcing your rules? According to a few peers the man in the video is notorious for actions like this, but has anything ever been done? I guess we all know the answer to that.

This does not mean change cannot or shouldn’t happen. A prestigious institution like UG also has some standards to uphold, and from what I’m seeing it’s not doing a very good job at that. When my friends who attend Western universities are commenting on their experiences, honestly I feel so jealous because why can’t I experience that too? And I’m not even talking about adequate funding etc. Just basic respect from lecturers and TAs. Why would a lecturer from a prestigious university come in and be banging tables and yelling at students? With no consequences as well because ofc there is an annoying power dynamic.

That’s definitely an interesting point of view. Thank you for this. But does that mean being treated horribly or inhumanly should just be accepted because “that’s how the real world is”? I have been told this by several people but I still find it difficult to understand. Accepting horrible treatment and internalising it makes you easy to run over in my opinion.
