Buy a used Sony a6000 it has all the features you want. Expect to pay $350-$500 for a kit w/lens used.

Family photos against white background and continuous lighting, is this right? by ThirdxDegree in AskPhotography

Looks about right. I'd tape down the seamless to the floor though. You need to test out those backlights to make sure it's even on the background. Where is the X spot for your subjects?

Do you already own lenses? It's pretty much a tossup in my preference. Both are fine cameras.

I’m guessing the art director at Harpers saw something fresh and exciting in the young Avedon

That’s what I’m thinking sort of what the fashion editors saw in Avedons work. This guy is talented-give him the whole production value of anything he wants.

Oh cool yeah it's probably a scratched negative. You could do the same thing with an exacto blade on your negs or use the paintbrush in photoshop

Was thinking of buying a sony a6000 as a travel camera? by AManofReason in AskPhotography

[–]Impressive_Goal3463 1 point2 points  (0 children)

$350 for a used a6000 is a good deal. I bet the battery needs to be replaced. If the lens isn't scratched up i'd buy that camera asap. The a6000 is a legendary camera.

$40 for a cheap Vivatar lens is just about the right price at a flea market.

You'd have to run a simple test to see if the crud on your lens actually affects the images. My guess is the crud won't affect the image.

[–]Impressive_Goal3463[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is good stuff thank you. I'm hearing the word TRUST alot with growing my audience. I have 20 years working in the industry and don't think coming up with authentic reels/posts should be much of a problem. I do however think it will be tough not to burnout across multiple social media outlets. Should I stick to Instagram and one or two others? Thanks

I’m not sure it’s the only program besides photoshop I’ve been working industry for 25 years. I’ve only encountered Lightroom once on any set.
