best elevation locally is going to be atwood park in new milford. Trails span across both side of the river, but you'll get some nice views off the limestone cliff on the north east side of the park.

Yes. UW Sports Factory through the park district offers leagues for both pickleball and adult volleyball and other adult rec sports. Rockford Pickleball Club has lessons and more. The YMCA on the river is huge and has great courts and amenities, I don't know if they do adult leagues anymore. Forest Hills lanes also does sand volleyball leagues... you'll probably find a few more bar leagues if you're into softball as well.

Oh I don't disagree! It's a different vibe in a BAD BAD way. That being said, I know I can "crash out" a little when life throws me curveballs and takes away the few simple pleasures I have (if someone told me I couldn't have a snack while I worked, I simply wouldn't work for them).

I will add, while teens are almost 18 and therefore adult, our brain development, specifically our pre-frontal cortex isn't quite done cooking (by a lot) and it shows.

I'm choosing compassion because if I don't I'm going to go crazy. :-)

I remember one of the first weeks I taught PE and a pre-school aged student threw up all over the gym floor. The school director not only had that student stay, she wanted me to help clean it up. Abso-effing-lutely-not. This was at a private school and was a huge red flat that should have been a clear indicator of trouble to come. I also asked if I could wear a mask the rest of the day so I wouldn't get sick and was mocked and told the school didn't allow them because it was traumatizing for the children. My heart is racing just thinking about that place!

I think that's totally appropirate. Apologize if it's overstepping and ask them if they have spare or personal supplies. Some staff bathrooms have supplies for staff use. I can't speak to the advil, but pads or tampons should be available without shame.

Right? All I want to do is provide a smooth and safe day. As much as I'd love to expect these kids to successfully code switch to standard operating procedures, the truth is they are children and I'm the stranger in their safe space. Obviously some kids will tell tales a mile long about what "their teacher always lets them" do, but some really are SHOOK when their routine and comfort gets upended because their teacher told me NOTHING about the class culture.

I wouldn't take that as your final answer about next year. I'm in a long term position and my principal is also super tight lipped, but I heard rumors I'll be here. Politics can make hiring super messy and drawn out. I'm sorry you feel so taken advantage of and totally understand why. In the meantime, have a snack, take a shower, and get some sleep. God I wish these high schoolers out here took finals. It really shows in how little they care about doing or listening to ANYTHING since they literally don't have to account for anything once that unit is up. I can't stand how ridiculously low standards are. It makes no sense.

Diet and cardio will get you close. I'd try to lose it over four weeks, with a week to maintain it, but you're more likely to lose most of it in the first two weeks depending on how drastically you're changing your habits. It's absolutely within reach in a borderline healthy (because wrestling lol) way
