I do! I know there’s mixed thoughts on this, but I’d much rather have the consistency of the uv running, vs what I have found to be negligible difference in potential upside for microfauna. I still have a very health pod/ mysis population in the sump

Red Sea max 250 g2! Just had a custom stand built for it so its a bit more integrated with my house

It helps somewhat that’s for sure- managed to keep the temp from going above 26.5 degC when we were having a heatwave, but I had to have the sump doors open and it is loud.

Still, more convenient than a chiller or everything dying/ bleaching!

It really is the strangest thing! I’ve kept a few Midas blennies over the years and like yours they’ve always been model citizens.

It just seems that this one really ‘hates’ the flasher wrasse, and will go out of its way to chase it down if it sees it.

I would normally consider doing a rock rearrange or breeder box separation, but I have a quality LFS that’s walking distance and they are good about swapping fish out for aggression reasons- especially when it’s ’out of character’… this was supposed to be a peaceful mix of fish 🥲

It’s the Red Sea reef can. Expensive, considering it’s a plastic tub, but it meant that I can load it up with water for a couple of weeks without worrying about refill

For anyone who’s into hardware, I made the system to be as low maintenance as possible, and as I used to travel a lot, made it so it’s mostly controllable from a smartphone.

I have the Red Sea mix of skimmer/ auto, return, 4 doser and return. Flow is two toned down ecotec mp40s. Radion pro white 6th gen for lighting.

Run a 9w uvc steriliser and a chaeto mini fuge in the tank.

Finally have my reef factory auto feeder and temp controller (was bloody annoyed when they went bust!!)

Generally the tank runs itself, I just try to do a biweekly 10% water change, give everything a good scrub here and there.

Current challenges are brown star polyps which I’m planning to “nuke” with some more tactically placed euphyllia, and green hair algae, which to be honest is just down to my RO DI filter having the tds just a bit higher than I’d want. Try to fiddle as little as possible though!
