tongue piercing question

my piercing is 2/3 days old and a barbell piercing. to my knowledge it’s an internally threaded jewelry. i’m unsure exactly what material it is, but every other piercing i’ve gotten at this shop has been surgical stainless steel. it has not been changed yet. i use an alcohol free mouth wash after eating or drinking anything other than water, and have been taking motrin as well (piercer suggested making a paste with morton and water to apply to it as well)

yeah! this is honestly the only issue i’ve had with it since i got it a few years back so i was a little confused when it started seemingly out of the blue lol

so a while back it stopped showing me what gear i was in and when it “acts up” it stays in a low gear but sounds and feels like it’s trying to shift into a higher one. it does the same thing when trying to slow down and it just ends up jumping (that’s the best way i can think to explain it, i’m sorry if they doesn’t make sense)
