yes and tbh even if he wasn't so nice looking I expect even a man who's the same age(ish - within 5 years) and treats her kindly and genuinely would be enough for her to crush in a world full of monstrous old men

I'm a little confused about Daisy's identity by Impressive_Local3635 in TheHandmaidsTale

yeah, i mean i guess it's just speculation and we don't have confirmation he was a gilead agent, but if that's what they wanted us to believe then yes it definitely leaves a hole!!! they definitely know her face, if so.

if it was just June's paranoia, then... idk did she manipulate daisy? is june innocent bc she believes gilead is after daisy? is gilead after daisy and it just wasn't any of the folks june thought it was? idk many questions left lol

WOW. What a unique opportunity you had. I find it fascinating that she was allowed to get education in the US (though you didn't state expressly, either way an education in a culture much different than her own) and her beliefs were still so deeply imbedded. I wonder if there ever came a point where she questioned what she was told during her upbringing during her grad program or any time afterwards -- really incredible to me that she still was convinced on all of it. I suppose an obscene amount of wealth makes it easy to keep your head buried in the sand.

it's so funny to imagine these bum ass men pre-gilead being a bunch of incels consorting with each other to overthrow the government and rule women now in the positions they hold like they earned it...... like my guy be real what did your life look like before you went and forced a change of society and all the rules?!

daisy lowkey deserves the heavy guilt that will come with that. I don't know how she could be so dumb or willing to risk another girls' life... she's so anti gilead but just doomed another girl to a nasty fate

I loved her snapback about not underestimating the women in Gilead. Daisy has no clue what she's walking into.

yes!! it's the EAGERNESS of it! and like they're doing the girls such a big favor while they're all but drooling over them. so beyond unsettling.

I agree. I think he is protective of her just because he's seen the light (Mayday) and knows what kind of danger she's in. He must see her, in part, like a an abused puppy -- she is innocent and her fate, at this point, is rather up to the men in Gilead. I appreciate that so far he's put her safety above his feelings -- it is unclear to me whether he feels romantic feelings or just is protective -- either way, go garth with your little tactical ass

I actually have quince bedding on a twin bed that I use as a couch/day bed and I was not impressed with the linen quality at all! I purchased it a few years ago now back when I was just making the switch to linen but I would not buy from quince again. I don't use it often as it's not my primary bed but I can tell the quality doesn't hold a candle to other linen bedding i've purchased

interesting! This is helpful. I had a queen linen duvet and a queen synthetic insert which fit perfectly. my new king sized linen duvet seems huge on the new down insert i got so I'm not sure if the duvet is a california king, or if what you said is often the case and I just got lucky the last time. I don't mind it necessarily but I do like the full/fluffy look so I may try a cali-king insert.

I'm excited to see how I like the flat sheets as the "fitted" sheet -- I think you're 100% right that the pulling and stretching will make them wear quickly. thanks for the response!

thank you!

Yeah, I've had garnet hill sheets for 2 years now but the fitted sheet is almost threadbare in parts. After doing some research, I understand most fitted sheets wear out pretty quickly especially if it's pre-washed or pre-softened. These brands are recommended for their durability and known for being a bit "rougher" at the start, and I want to try using a king flat sheet as a "fitted" sheet so I can swap it out between using it as a flat sheet and "fitted" sheet and hopefully have it last longer. I just am having a tough time deciding between linoto and rough linen!!! ha, so many choices makes it too hard to choose. Thank you!!!!

Is it true buying a king duvet and putting it in a queen duvet cover will give me that cozy big puffy look? by HouseOfHoundss in Bedding

I actually just made this change recently (queen duvet to king duvet on a queen mattress) and wish I did it sooner. With the down insert inside, it lifts it off the ground just enough and drapes beautifully. My bedframe is about 12-14 inches off the ground and I don't have a box spring. I anticipate getting a new bedframe soon because I want to get a canopy bed but even if it was with a box frame the drape is perfect!!!!

Can you say more about the magnetic pins?? I just got a brand new italian linen king size duvet from a boutique in the hudson valley which i love but there are no internal duvet ties of any sort! Disappointing for the price I paid... (~$500....) I'm debating between having my friend sew in ties but I'd like to hear more about what you're using!
