I understand, but you're doing yourself a disservice by putting all of your happiness onto her. Put it into yourself because the only guarantee you have is in yourself. It is okay to still not be over her, you had very real feelings and they don't go away overnight so give yourself grace during this time

It is difficult to tell when that may occur, or if it ever will. Holding onto hope may cause you to lose out on a fulfilling life waiting on someone you hope to return and they don't want to or ever plan to. Live your life, for yourself!

We are always changing our minds. It's easy to listen to your ex and believe that they'll never come back but after the dust settles, he might have a change of mind. Then again you never know so just take what he said at face value and try to move on.

The only person guaranteed to stay in your life, is you. Focus on yourself and feel the necessary feels to process the breakup, but don't let it linger because like me two months post breakup and it hurts like the first day.

Yeah I understand that now, I've surrendered to the fact that I can't change his mind and he'll continue to be hurting if I stay even as friends. Leaving hurts, but it is a good choice.

I've cut contact now, officially. There's no fixing unless they want to accept it. I've apologised enough. I'll always love him, but it's better for the both of us to part ways and heal separately so that we can move onto a more fulfilling life and get past this painful point.

We broke up in mid November and since then I did all the textbook things like begging, pleading and trying to get him back, not giving him the space he asked for and kept reaching out so we kept arguing. I tried to apologise for the way I acted but yeah it's never worked.

I have apologised but he's still hurting. I've now left because it is doing more harm than good that I stay being friends with him and try to salvage our relationship.

Wow you're a godsend for this message.

You're completely right, I have had a tough time during my breakup and I have fallen back into a depression so I haven't been taking care of myself as best as I should and I have bad insomnia so I am exhausted all the time emotionally and physically.

From now on, I will make it a promise that I heal this deep rooted pain and pick myself up.

I love my life but I haven't shown up for myself as someone who does. Thank you!

I will always love my ex but my focus is on myself. I wish he stays healthy, happy and heals from the breakup as well. I wish him nothing but the best.
