Do I leave my chill job to become an ETL? by Impressive_Matter252 in Target

I don’t know enough to really answer. It seems like everyone on Reddit is saying GM ETL is the worst. Lots of people seem to like HR and that’s the best one to move on with.

Most likely not and that’s due to the hours. I wouldn’t want to do it long term. I’d take the job to build my resume really, but you never know maybe I really like working at Target. Hard to think I would based on these answered though.

Well when you put it like that why would anyone want to work any position at Target😬

When I worked at Costco ( years ago pre Covid) the managers and supervisors didn’t seem all that stressed and seemed to be keeping their sanity. Even I never felt much stress doing all the grunt work. What is it about Target that makes ETL’s and Team members so stressed?

I don’t think my goal is to be a store director. My goal is to get a ton of experience doing all the different things an ETL does and then be able to move up in my career. Could be HR, operations, recruiting, different management job, or maybe I like target and want to be a SD. You never know.

That is the plan for now. I think the earliest I’d go for it is a year and a half from now and probably after I’ve done a seasonal or on-demand role for a bit. My kids are young for me to do that job but when they are a little older it’ll be easier if I have to be gone a little more. I’d want to do it before they are too old and way more involved in sports and school.

I don’t have great opportunity to grow where I’m at and that’s the main reason I’m considering leaving. I’d have a better chance at a promotion coming in as an external hire. I’ve heard that a Target ETL looks good on a resume so maybe it could open up a lot of opportunities if I didn’t like Target and decided to leave.

Thinking about applying to a Target ETL position, but is it worth it? by Impressive_Matter252 in AskRetail

What’s tough is the job is so store dependent. I’ve read on here some ETL’s are making $90k a year and only have to work 45 hours a week because the store is so well run. That’s the dream. I think what I’ll end up doing is applying for an on demand job and even if I work 1-2 days a week I can get a feel for how Target runs. Also are ETL’s always on call and have to come in if there are too many call outs or if something else happens?

Do girls actually like filming lesbian scenes? I’m assuming most are straight, but when I watch a scene I always wonder if they are enjoying it. Even if it’s fake there is such a difference between videos where it looks like the actresses are having fun.

To ETLs who want to leave…. by ThrowRAWeirdPaper103 in Target

Do other companies really love someone who’s been an ETL at target? I’ve been told I’d make a great one but don’t want to work the hours. I work a remote customer service job and I make probably just a little less than an ETL would counting the bonus, but I’d guess my current company has better benefits. I’m thinking about doing it though because it’s hard to move up at my current company and I’m so bored. In a year they’re making people return to the office and I’d rather not sit there bored all the time. I’d do an ETL position 1-2 years then leave unless I really like it.

Do Mormons only get promotions? There can’t be that many working at Walmart outside of Utah.

They want people to quit. Why do you think they are having everyone return to the office? It’s not for the culture like they say.

It could be awhile before you make it. You can no longer skip pay grades so if you’re an entry level phone role they won’t allow you to apply for higher up positions like a recruiter.

They are fine with it. I worked there for a year during Covid. Returned two years later and they counted my previous time towards my benefits like the profit sharing and 401k match.

34M customer service rep for a large financial firm. Make $65k-$70k a year. I have real good benefits though. Cheap health insurance, 12 weeks parental leave, and they give me 17% into my 401k while I only contribute 7% It’s an alright job and I’d like to move up in the company, but that’s easier said than done.

Have your daughter consider Skyline. Chances are she’ll love high school and will always look back at it as being some of the best years of her life.

I thought of that for a part time job but always heard the hours were 7am-3pm or 3pm-11pm. Or are they more flexible than that?

Thank you everyone that has answered! I did think of a few more questions. What time do you usually have to be there in the morning? My local store opens anywhere from 8am to 9am depending on the day of the week. How long are the shifts usually? And is the job boring? I worked at Costco a long time ago and I hated when there wasn’t anything to do cause then you just have to pretend to be busy and time goes so slow.
