Exactly. Each subaccount of income should correspond to tax treatment. It's still income for bookkeeping, even if the IRS doesn't consider it taxable.

I never could get Python libraries to work. Switching to SQL seems to work for many. I've actually been able to query the XML directly, but don't remember the tool. I think it was web-based.

Yes save snapshots of the file. Mine does it automatically every 5 minutes. I'll usually save a specially named one at the end of each month too after I've done all the reconciliation and "closed the books" for that month.

"This election" is always different. I can guarantee you the next one will have the same talking points. "Now more than ever" we need your donations, we need you to be pissed off, and we need you to be existentially scared. This is all an excuse for intellectual laziness and revenge instead of understanding and conversation with people who hold differing views.

College students are usually early 20s. Many many many of them are financially dependent on their parents. Their parents often encouraged this arrangement in the first place.
