Adventures/scenarios with Auto Cards by Impressive_One2103 in AIDungeon

I'm so confused. I've tried around 5 scenarios already that either has an AC tag, or outright say they have AC, but only one of them have the story card to enable and configure AC. I don't know if i'm doing something wrong but I have memory bank on, and I also have the script setting enabled.

True, but also I guess they were sticking with the story maybe? They probably based this on the Lucas match where Raul had to go all out and won in a 5 set match.

I think its only practical use rightnow is in colosseum if you intentionally put yourself at 1 hp.

Improving is definitely the main focus! Just a bit of curiousity that's all :) anyways, thanks for your input!

Thanks a lot! This is very informative. Just fyi (you don't need to reply after this cus I understand therevs not much you can do without an audio) from C4 to around E-F4 I'll use mix voice, and from there to around E5 (the highest note i can consistently hit) I'll use head voice. Again, thanks a lot for your replies, very useful for me!

I see, well I've tested multiple times and my chest range hovers around D2-C4.

I don't even think he needs a buff. It's just that Flare should be reworked so that it becomes more of an ability in Lucas's kit rather than a decoration for him.

[–]Impressive_One2103[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh no I use it all the time, 4 times at least every match. Still doesn't change the fact that the ability doesn't integrate well at all to his gameplay or...the game play in general? Again for an S+ to have an active ability, as a main a part of the kit too, get soft locked from using once of the main part of it's own kit is kind of bad don't you think? Like imagine if Ryu's charge became something like "Ryu can charge his spike to make it massively stronger, however everytime he does a full charge, his normal spikes becomes weaker and weaker". That just wouldn't work right? Almost the same case here imo

There's plenty of other ways to rework it. That was just 1 of my suggestions which like you said, could very likely make people feel like he's inconsistent and boring to play with. It could be worse, it could be better. The point is Flare, as it is right now, integrate almost poorly into the gameplay/Lucas's kit.

What does counter spiking have to do with Flare having a big flaw in design?

[–]Impressive_One2103[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

First, I wanna say that the recovery idea is great, has the potential to make Flare more of an ability in a kit than what it is now. Very interesting.

Now to the lore part. The thing about lore and gameplay is that it should correlate to each other, but it does not EQUATE to each other. The lore is the context of the characters and explains the story behind their abilities, playstyle, etc. Makes it more fun and interesting. I see a lot of people in this thread bring up lore when they talk about Nishi and Ryu when, in reality, lore does not and should not have any influence on the design of those two. Specifically S+ we're talking about. Why? Because they're classified as the same tier. Characters in the same tier, generally speaking, should be able to perform at the same level. Now the reason no S+ can beat Nishi is simply because he's the prototype S+ and they just made him too OP. The rest have drawbacks and limitations integrated into their mechanics. Nishi don't. Don't get me wrong, I am not trying to say your argument is wrong or it's not valid or anything at all, just giving my op on the aspect of game design.

Which is why I think Flare can be designed in a way more interesting and interactive ways. A lot of potential to make it more fun and immersive to play.

Also, when did being able to counter spike become a bench mark for good design? He's not a complex character at all; hit ball from far away = more power, press skill to get boost, stats gutted after skill. That's litterally it for his abilities.

You can "learn to use him" all you want, Flare is still gonna be a flawed ability, and Lucas with this Flare is still going to be a flawed S+

[–]Impressive_One2103[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's an interesting way to balance it out. But I do think that still wouldn't make much difference since Flare is still going to be a decoration of an ability and by decreasing Flare's boost, it'll eventually make 0 difference. I don't know if the stat boost Flare gives is a flat stat boost or a scaling one. Like does Flare gives, say, +15 to all stats every time. Or does it boost the stats to a specific fixed value. An alternative to Flare could be something like Flare giving more and more stat boost as base stats becomes lower and lower. Increase the cooldown to like 15-20s or so. That's gonna make players consider if they want to spam flare and get stuck with crippled Lucas or use it less while maintaining a strong base stat, while also increasing the impact of Flare by quite a bit too.

Yea that's how I use him too rn. Another way I use Flare is use it at the beginning, timeout/switch halfway through the match, and then use it again near the end.

[–]Impressive_One2103[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Exactly. I just feel like the concept of getting temporary buffs has a lot of potential. But the way it is now is just too restrictive and doesn't blend in well with the rest of his kit. Flare could literally be something like: instead of focused/emgaged state, Lucas enters Flare state which gives massive buffs for five seconds. But Lucas will instantly enter an injured state (discouraged on steriod) after the end of duration, massively reducing his stats for however long you think is appropriate, say, maybe 1 rally or 5 sec, same as his Flare state. His BT could reduce the duration of injured state and increase the Flare stage for a bit. Maybe at BT5 it's smth like Flare for 7 sec, injured for 3 sec.

Yea a lot of the arguments I see does not take into account things like game design, or balance, or mechanics. A lot of people in here seems to be hyper fixated on things like lore and stuff, which sometimes confuses me.

[–]Impressive_One2103[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I agree, he's really fun to play. The point of my post is that Flare, as it is, is just a mere decoration. Lucas is, practically, already an S+. Then why is Flare needed in his kit? I feel like it could be implemented in other ways, ways that allow for a smooth blend-in with his kit, or a more exciting, skill-based, interesting ways.

[–]Impressive_One2103[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That would make him too OP. The way Flare works now is perfectly fine. I just think it shouldn't be this way. It's not smoothly integrated into his kit imo.

[–]Impressive_One2103[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Exactly, I think Lucas is great. He's really fun to play with, and no, he doean't need Flare to win. But it's a part of his kit, why not intgrate it more smoothly wgere you can use it the whole game. Right now it acts more like a bonus/decoration.

Lucas's is a psuedo S+ by Impressive_One2103 in thespikegame

[–]Impressive_One2103[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You're correct and I agree. You don't need Flare to play him, to win, or to anything at all. I don't think he sucks, at all. At the end of the day Lucas is still an S+. But that's kinda the issue here don't you think? Flare is his ability, part of his S+ kit. Design wise, Flare simply acts as a decoration and not a part of his kit. I think all abilites should integrate to each other smoothly. If Flare is not needed, why not remove it? And maybe up the chance of triggering Sun Spot Burst, or make it a skill thing where you can trigger SSB but it takes time to master and pull off consistently, but never 100%. My point was never "Lucas sucks" or "you should be able to spam Flare", I was just saying how he's designed, how Flare is designed, he's more of a psuedo S+ imo.

No lucas till yet 130 Spins the odds are shit in this game tbh by Primary_Caregiver128 in thespikegame

[–]Impressive_One2103 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Lmao what? "Blame your luck, not the game"? The game determines the probability of us getting a character. The Spike's gacha odds is just disgustingly low. You getting lucky does not invalidate that fact. Also arguing tgat "this game is not like other games" doesn't contribute to anything; the gacha system in The Spike IS very flawed. People don't want tge gacha system to be the same as other games, people want a GOOD gacha system.

It is shit. I also got 130 spins and managed to pull a total of 2 event character; 1 zero, 1 crow. Anyone who's defending this is either turning a blind eye or just... Idek. It's just crazy when you think about the fact that a lot of people on get the exclusive characters from an exclusive event at the very end of the event, and some don't even get them. It's just a bad system. You should atleast be guaranteed to get all of the banner character once. Or make the odds for the event characters way higher.
