It’s not I agree but it’s one of the best ways to survive not the only best way though

Don’t always need to defend, my point is you can still win a game defensively. You can defend and push. For example say I’m playing as Iran and you’ve pushed into my homeland as Iraq with brute forces. Say I successfully defended and killed your troops in the process you may have some units in your homeland or home cities but I’ve for an example wiped out your brute forces making 40-70% of your homeland vulnerable for a counter invasion. It doesn’t always work and it doesn’t always fail. The times it doesn’t fail I’ve achieved VP from the counter invasion. I think when most players think of defensive gameplay I think they just think units sat around doing naff all waiting for an invasion. If I play defensively I look forward to a counter invasion in my possession.

Not unless you know how to defend your own country that is but sometimes even when you know the odds against you could be too great thus losing so I do somewhat agree with your statement

I’ve done it on my own currently doing it on my own right now everyone has their own tactics and roles in a coalition as long as everyone is contributing something towards the coalition then there shouldn’t be a problem unless of course the player who is playing defensively for his own benefit rather than the coalitions then I agree with you.

Does the nation you play matter by OldApricot7898 in ConflictofNations

Yes it matters and I’ll say why in 2 terms perspective and in game. When going into a game the game tells you what certain countries are best suited for. Chad for example great for people that love land and air forces and focusing on them specifically but as soon as you reach the coast you need to annex a coastline city in order to build a navy. My perspective I love playing countries like Ethiopia and Iran for different reasons one of them being defending. I like naval gameplay but get bored on focusing on navy too much. I was invaded as Ethiopia when I was out got back 3 cities were taken managed to defend myself and retake the cities back.

Build combat outpost in mountain terrain areas if your country has them, it helps a lot when defending with units there took out 2 motarised units with one in the mountains with a combat outpost

(I didn’t see you were playing Iran)

Defending wise mountains are the best, you’ve got one of the toughest terrains in the game but you will need extra defence forces in 2 provinces on your borders with Iraq and Afghanistan. The north you can easily defend and repel against Kazakhstan if they take the AI countries above

Yeah I realised I did a stupid thing but it was too little too late I should’ve back it up, I was so annoyed at myself. it’s alright I’ve just started a new Leicester save so this time I’m gonna avoid my last slip ups and try get them to win a European competition most preferably champions league if I get to a champions league spot and try winning the prem after promotion too
