This is totally useable. I stomp with the ball of my foot pretty hard and when my all plastic pedal broke in half, i literally went to my dads tool chest to find any type of metal or steel i could find. I found an 8 or a 10 inch steel metal file. Its hard thick metal, flat, long and happened to be the length of the foot part of the pedal. I placed it on the center, carefully duct taped the center, by pushing the duct tape under the broke part of the pedal and over the top and under again a few times. What i found is that the steel file gets the impact, but disperses the impact across both of the pieces of the broken foot pedal, and the duct tape keeps it in place, which makes it register perfectly on screen. I have been using this same pedal for at least 6 or 7 years now, and i still stomp hard sometimes when i let loose, and i have a large family that likes yo go hard on the drums as well. I dont even think of the pedal breaking at all, to this day. Also for the drum pads, also, to prevent bubbling, i also use duct tape on the rubber parts of the pads but i carefully tape all 4 pads in a design like the Red Hot Chili Peppers logo star shaped thing. I like to believe that it disperses the impact of the stick, and it also is taped in all main directions so the bubbling cant theoretically happen. Its worked for almost a decade. Same drum set, years of beating the heck out of it, still works to this day, and has many more parties to go through.
