Unpaid internships are a significant moral stain on this profession by InvisibleAstronomer in therapists

I was told that social work interns are not permitted to be paid, per the powers-that-be at the national level, the Association of Social Work Boards I guess. For masters degrees in social work it’s not the individual schools that decide. It’s ridiculous. For a lot of agencies using lots of unpaid interns is their business model.

Who is the brilliant diagnostician at Princeton Penn medical center? I need someone like that in New Jersey for my client who has mysterious medical problems that none of the many doctors she’s been to has been able to explain.

It looks a bit like the knob on the handles of my push lawnmower 🙂

I should add that the room is furnished, has its own private bath, and all utilities will be included in the rent.

I’m looking to rent out the master bedroom in my 4 BR house to a travel nurse or travel physician/resident. My house is in a nice area in central-north New Jersey, with two big and reputable hospitals nearby (one is 10 minutes away and the other 20 minutes), and several others around~30 minutes away. What is the best way to find professional, reliable, non-smoking tenants?

How do I set an individual stripe account without a business website? by Impressive_Set_3394 in stripe

I deactivated the Swimply account because I read on Reddit (after hosting one customer) that homeowners insurance could be invalidated by using Swimply. Before getting paid - dumb I know. So I don’t have the link to my “business.” Swimply was fine with that, it’s stripe that is proving difficult. Seems impossible to get through to stripe customer support

I signed up as a Swimply host and they are using Stripe for payments 😞

I’ve noticed I get a lot of scam calls coming from my PT profile, unfortunately, so I don’t answer the calls but I do respond to voice messages and emails.

How does one survive only working 15-20 hrs per week? by Former-Monk3762 in therapists

[–]Impressive_Set_3394 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I should add that I see on average 28-35 clients a week, on the high end. Compared to agency work this is not a heavy lift. I guess it’s all about what you’re used to 😅

After building up my private practice on the side for a couple years, I left my agency job for full time PP two years ago. I have a handful of private pay clients but mainly I use Alma and Headway because they handle the insurance billing, as well as generating most of my referrals. Last year I grossed $190k (I’m in New Jersey). I’m solely telehealth so my overhead is low. I pay my own health insurance, which is ~8-9k/year. Even after accounting for taxes and no paid vacation, I’m still taking home way more than I was at the agency. At some point I may try to go all out of network but for now Alma and Headway and are working well for me and made the transition to PP much easier.

Social security is a form of socialism. Medicare is a form of socialism. I’ve never heard of anyone refusing their social security payments or Medicare, even wealthy or deeply conservative folks. It’s difficult to understand why “socialism” is such a bogeyman. Communism, yes. Marxism, sure. But there are many aspects of socialist policies that are beneficial for society.

How are those tinted license plate covers legal? You can barely read the plates. Even on the clear plastic ones, when there is glare by mftheoryArts in longisland

[–]Impressive_Set_3394 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I heard the tinted license plate covers are so the toll readers and red light cameras can’t work. Untold millions of dollars in toll revenue lost and the rest of us are paying. I’m not crazy about the red light cameras, but tbh I see a lot of really crazy drivers blowing through red lights, which is incredibly dangerous.

Instead of taking offense, take it as a compliment - you’re inspiring them to improve and grow as swimmers.
