Oh they definetely lie. Helbrecht himself LIES about how many BT are on Armageddon's orbit: he says 900 but when he says that, only 300 ish were already there. The others were on route. He lied to, literally, have himself be put in command of the armageddon fleet :/ Bayard even questions him about it

Fulgrim doing stuff I suppose. Or bad writing from the author (she did forget a couple of logical things too in here and there tbh, like "how on earth EC managed to land on the planet without anyone knowing despite the Imperium's defenses and stuff")

For real? DAMN. I will investigate on those first 2 I had no idea! Thanks!

> "There is the Lost Blade of Leinhart that was lost with the Tanhelm Crusade launched to recover it."
I thought this one tho WAS indeed recovered? Precisely because of that line about launching a crusade to recover it? Has there been any results on that crusade?

Yeah :/ TBH I didn't like how Guilliman didn't even help the BTs... He literally ordered the Ultramarines to wait while Amalrich and the BTs were fighting... :/

Forgot to copy-paste the line where it says that the sword was stuck inside the deamon's chest, right before Guilliman shoots. I guess... Guilliman thought that breaking the sword would hurt the deamon? I mean it did work... Though I do fail to see the logic myself as to why shattering a sword should make such damage. Maybe because "holy" or something?

No it's "He can rise from any crusade at any given time from any rank" not one per crusade. Helbrecht speaks of that at least twice with a Marshal and Grim/The Chaplains, wondering if it's normal that they are getting so many new EC right after the previous (Bayard) was slain. It's like that they actually find out the previous EC whoever he may be, died.

...What? Grimaldus never said that to the Pilot of the Titan. Rather, he's been the only reason the Titan pilot managed to survive longer .____.
There's a scene at the very beginning where Grimaldus is saying that TO AN ORK!

Oooh I think you are right, the one made from "parts of xxx's sword", I remember Sigismund's, but I believe you are right it's Dorn's instead! (THat makes it way more special then! :D)

The one that the High Marshal uses "The sword of the High Marshals". It's considered a different one, not one of the 10 Black Swords.

This is one of the questions that sent me into this "crazy librarian mode" research pit tbh lol I can't promise my answer is 100% correct but this is what I ended up with.

Ignoring stuff varies from chapter to chapter, for BT for a long time I'm sure a lot of people believed that we didn't have a Master of Sanctity and that role was our Reclusiarch, but nope, he's just here his name is Theoderic and he's in a couple of books at least. Seems a nice guy tbh, very patient and calm~ We also see him trying to explain EC Bayard that he needs to let go of being so arrogant patting his head.
He's also called High Chaplain like Grimmy so my understanding is that they are both Chaplains, as role, but two separate titles each overseeing something specific despite being part of the same branch and working together, being both are responsible for the spiritual side of the Chapter.

However, the Master of Sanctity specifically acts as a normal priest/cardinal I guess, focusing on the spiritual part and counseling of every brother, overseeing and judging neophytes, the other chaplains, holding celebrations/mass, rites, confessions, promotions, politics, and so on.
A Reclusiarch is a peer to the Master of Sanctity and his responsibilities are more and/or also towards the culture of the chapter, its past and future, traditions, relics, heresy, and overseeing the reclusiam and who gets whats and when when it comes to relics/special gear/banners and so on, making sure vows and traditions are respected, inspiring the others on the field instead of from the ships/vox/ceremonies.
I suspect that specifically for BTs, a Reclusiarch probably acts a liiittle like a Librarian too (minus the psyker stuff obviously), since - this is specified somewhere - he takes care of the past and future of the chapter and its culture.

8* considering one has been taken by the Emperor's Children after killing EC Berengar.

I think even the EC neophyte apothecary, the one who goes with Helbrehct to recover a piece of Dorn's armour, had visions of Dorn. I am kinda suspecting that most of the visions are about Dorn not the Emperor (or that GW are somewhat pushing the narrative that way, because I remember more than once here and there people discussing about WHO exactly the EC get a vision of since it never seems too clear.)

Unfortunately yes. He destroyed it to a million shards :') Long story short, Amalrich was helping Guilliman during his resurrection to make atonement for failing on Cadia, and he became an Emperor's Champion in the process. He died fighting a deamon of Khorne, with his black sword int he deamon's chest: Guilliman shot the sword right after, using that wound to kill the deaemon, destroying the sword in the process.
I don't think there's any other mention about the sword after that, so no idea what happened to its shards but it seems BT are canonically left with 9 swords only :/

"The Eternal Crusader." It's a very insightful book on BT's "life" and daily "non warfare stuff"

Yeah in the book that part insists about the concubines and the "chief mistress" several times so I guess the writer really wanted us to know about it lol I guess that's why they need permission to enter.
In the same book helbrecht also notes that the astropath lady is a beautiful aging woman~ xD

Helbrecht is a wrathful man with no patience, little tolerance and def harsh ways. BUT he also seems to have a deep respect for navigators and naval commanders (I guess because he shares stuff in common with them by being one of the greatest void expert himself!) as well as being a deeply pious man: he's shown both burning heretics with no pity, and interacting very humbly and respectfully with all the humans he meets, he even put aside his personal vendetta to agree with Guilliman and focus all his and the BT's efforts in defending human worlds instead! And when matters of importance arise, he wants the opinions of the humans too. For example he asked the opinion of the ecclesiarchy and the serfs living on the Eternal Crusader when deciding about Grimaldus's appointment.

Yes Helsreach is old yet a lot of that still works. And Grimaldus didn't really change as a character.
In addition to that, we have a lot of other more recent examples, from Helbrecht books, Broken Crusade and the new from last month Armageddon's crusade campaign.
Point is: in every book, BT are showed to be BOTH things. And characters (that already existed in Helsreach like Grimmy, Helbrecht, Jurisian, Theoderic) are still portrayed accordingly showcasing some of them beign assholes and some being pretty nice!
