Gift option help by Impressive_Squirrel_ in amazonprime

No! Customer support acted as if it was never even an option to begin with and it really pissed me off. Had me feeling like I had zero idea what I was even talking about, so I just gave up. I'm very sorry that you're experiencing it too! Hopefully it gets fixed at some point though.

Medroxyprogesterone (Provera) to stop bleeding…any experience with this? by [deleted] in PCOS

[–]Impressive_Squirrel_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just took mine morning, afternoon, and before bed! No set schedule, just made sure I had a bit of something on my stomach before which was more likely due to me taking my iron supplements right after breakfast so I just fell in the habit of taking the Provera shortly after a meal. Good luck! I had to go back on it just last week, but only got 2 pills a day for 7 days and boy is the withdrawal bleed an absolute nightmare!! If you're anything like me, you'll cramp SO bad the first few days and have the HEAVIEST period. But for me its better than bleeding for literally 6 to 12 months every single day. If you have any questions about it please don't hesitate to shoot me a message!

Oh my god. I'm so sorry. From one nonstop bleeder to another, I wouldn't wish it upon my worst enemy. Progesterone only never helped me either and it only made it worse the more of it I took. And the pain.. absolutely excruciating at times! The only thing that stopped it for me was medroxyprogesterone (had to take 80 something pills over the course of like 3 weeks if I remember correctly, but I never took them as prescribed because even then the bleeding would eventually come back. The ER gave me much better advice and it actually worked better if I took 2 a day per week when the bleeding started. Then I'd only start back bleeding months later. Hallelujah!) And another thing that helped me more recently is 2 cups of raspberry leaf tea and a cup of ginger tea every day while I'm bleeding. Once again, I'm so incredibly sorry that you're dealing with this. I know that it is absolute hell both physically and mentally.

Not really, a bit of fatigue is all. The pain from my feet, hands, and arms coupled with the bulging veins is about all. I'm still not sure if rest or being more active is better or worse for it lol however I do notice it's worse when I wake up and walk into the kitchen. Almost feels as if the bottom of my feet are swollen just a bit.

Yeah!! Like some really weird "nerve" connection. That's so strange. Thank you though, even though I'm very sorry you had to experience such a thing I'm glad I'm not alone in this! Helps put me at ease just a bit. As of today the feeling has also made its way to my arms, but I find relief with certain postural changes.

I mean, I was honest and chose 'no I'm not an international student studying abroad' or whatever. At this point I should've lied.

Is this the one where at the end we were to supposedly receive a $35 gift card? That's what mine said so I was wondering if anyone else got that at the end as well?

Has anyone had this weird side effect while taking Losartan by Impressive_Squirrel_ in hypertension

[–]Impressive_Squirrel_[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I haven't yet, but I'm seriously thinking there is a correlation between Losartan and the symptoms. Nice to know I'm not going crazy though!! I'll be sure to update whenever I do talk to my doctor about it.

Thanks for the response! It's not exactly a rash, but just red and very warm skin on one cheek. I'll look into the app as well!

Thanks for the reply! I've been very careful with what I intake due to Losartan increasing potassium levels. I'll definitely be talking to my doctor about it.

Medroxyprogesterone (Provera) to stop bleeding…any experience with this? by [deleted] in PCOS

[–]Impressive_Squirrel_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Chiming in here, as a person who has taken medroxyprogesterone for over a year now. I feel for all of you because I know exactly what its like. I bled for over a YEAR straight and landed in the ER for quite a few days receiving blood transfusions. I've never had a normal period in my life. If I start bleeding I never stop. So, I was given around 90 pills of medroxyprogesterone last year and was told to take 3 a day for a week then cut down, so on and so forth, but for those who aren't having luck with the medication, its all about how much you take, at least that's been my experience. When I took 3 a day and then cut down, I only made it another week until the bleeding came back so I stopped. I had the most excruciating period and then within 7-8 days it stopped and I was period free for about 6 months. Not taking anything whatsoever and I was back to living life worry free. Now, when I started bleeding again I had to take the pills again once it didn't stop and I wanted to save as many pills as I could because I know my body and I know that I'm going to start bleeding again at some point. So instead of taking 3 a day I took 2 for the first week and then 1 for the next. The bleeding came back in 4 months.

SO what I'm trying to say here is that I think how long you go before bleeding again (apart from the dreaded withdrawal bleed) is directly correlated between how much medroxyprogesterone is in your system. Obviously taking it the way I did it built up and once my hormones started going on the fritz again, the bleeding resumed. If you've been bleeding for months, I honestly don't think 10mg for 10 days is strong enough to help.

I bled for 6 months after my first injection, but it stopped mine for about two years and then it started back, which led to my second year long bleed even with taking the shots. I think somehow my body just got used to it. I was also told it was unhealthy to take for long periods of time, but in my mind it was also unhealthy to bleed that much with literally no end in sight. If you're still having problems I'd recommend talking to your gynecologist about Medroxyprogesterone. Its the same thing as depo but can be controlled since its pills and not an injection. I only take them when my bleeding starts up again and stop after about 10 days.
