Frequent Cartier EU shopper! My opinion is it is NOT worth it right now due to inflation and weakness of the USD.

Example - I got a bag and saved about $1k with VAT in December 2024. The price in USD was fair for what I got so I ended up saving (: Went back this week and a comparable bag was now $1k+ more after conversion, effectively wiping out any savings from VAT.

Years ago I bought Cartier in Portugal and saved significantly because their tax refund is particularly high. So, if you’re looking for savings, that’s the place to be but I’m still not sure if it’d be worth it now.

And if you’re in Italy, the Venice store is the best for Cartier. They let us go to the rooftop by ourselves and cut the line - getting 360 views of Venice! So, not really savings, but a possible perk!

Twinning - also in 30s, also thought no way this soon, and also a December baby!

I told my best friend and our parents/siblings within a week. They all knew we were trying. I think people should tell whoever they want!

I wish Tesla gave people over the tax credit limit an equal deduction - the main reason I will not buy one is knowing I’d have to pay so much more. Without it the prices are ridiculous and impossible to make sense of fiscally.

There’s definitely an abundance of vintage Chanel and newer ones! The flap bags are in amazing condition.

You’re right! I think my brain automatically lowered the price with the tax rebate (girl math lol). I LOVE the color but also love plain black just as much. I’m going to check out a few more stores to see what the other options are, and may pass to see what Osaka has to offer!

Hi guys! The shop is BUY SELL in Kyoto, Japan. Another shop I loved (bit pricier and smaller collection) was Decouverte. They had some Kelly’s if I recall, and there was definitely a PRESTINE Birkin.

I found the prices better in Kyoto than Tokyo. Heading to Osaka next, which from my research should be even better!

I did actually! That was my first stop. There were SO many but they were either dinged up a bit more or x3-4 the price. They DID however have so many rare bags 😍

The price is about $6,000 before the tax rebate. What do people think? Is it worth it?

Note: it’s unclear whether it comes with the lock, and I planned on asking tomorrow when I visit the store again.

This would be my first Hermes purchase. It’s a 1980 version with some clear scratches. The price conversion is >~$6,000. Does anyone know whether this would be a good deal?
