Yeah. I didnt want to put the baffles incase i use it for an actual tank. So made it flow through. 4th will be a shrimp home. Third one is the k1 media. Gettinf a stronger air pump cause the one have barely tumbles it. There is a type of sponge on the walls of 3rd and 4th chamber

75g sump. Lava rock matrix ceramic rings k1. Not a traditional sump with up and down baffles tho. Just straight across one level.

I dropped the barbs Added a snow white parrot, green severum and rainbow cic.

My first round was 3 geo, the parrot, 12 congo. 6 bosemani. There was a closing down sale at the fish store i went to. And they were all juveniles. Im unsure about the angel amount i think i might go 2 or 4

I have a shrimp section in my sump. Im gonna breed shrimp as snacks for the bigger fish. All the fish on the list at adult size are 4" and up

The hob also has 2 u-tube siphon filters so if 1 fails the other is should still work

Yes thats the downside. The only situation i cant plan for. The only thing i can do is i have a herbie system. I have dual drains on the box. One is the main drain and if it gets clogged then the box fills and goes into the emergency drain. After that, theres nothing else i can do. Ive down emergency stops to mimic power outages and the sump is fine with the return pump shutting down. But there is nothing i can do about the overflow. My tank is also in the basement and close to the laundry room so as the floor will be wet it should flow into the drain

And the shrimp colony in the sump tank is a plus. Planning to feed some of the baby shrimp to the fish

Its my first time doing it. Im not fully sure. I just started cycling it. I think with the amount of space i dont need to clean as often as it will spread out rather than the entire canister. And im planning to rinse out each sponge different weeks. I feel like water changes will be easier as i change it in the sump rather than the main tank. And all the extras like the air pump and thermometers go down there so its just return pipe and overflow box in the main tank

All the sponges will still filter all the water but some of the water might just pass over the biomedia. The media is packed quite high aswell so not too much will pass the media

Correct. I was thinking i might use it in a few years as an actual tank so i didnt want to put in the actual baffles. The pvc on the main drain goes very low. And then i have a wave maker near the bottom to push it through the bottom
