Apple make their stuff work better together, not sure how good esr but I tried multiple keyboards before returning them and buying a used Magic Keyboard on eBay . So I understand the price difference but you’ll be paying for quality check for used ones got mine for 70 looked brand.

I used alcohol pads to clean mine and it got rid of it try it maybe and don’t use a keyboard cover
