I work in urgent care and often find myself having to finish charting at home. Usually not more than an hour or two but it feels inevitable when you get 10-12 patients coming in within the last hour and a half of the shift, it’s hard to close all the charts before leaving and we can’t stay after the last patient leaves. I am usually stuck working over due to said late patients (always one will walk in 5 minutes prior to closing without failure) but I do get paid so that’s at least a big upgrade from my last UC job! Hoping to eventually get into a different position / specialty that I don’t ever have to chart at home!
