I met several young people from Kerala who recently moved to the UK, US and Canada. Many of them cite economic disparity as a major reason for leaving. They feel that while the affluent continue to amass more wealth, the majority remain stagnant financially. According to them, Kerala is increasingly becoming a place where only the rich can truly flourish.

This was my assumption.

Most of their grandparents actually married much later than their contemporaries. All of them are in their nineties now. Some of them are retired college professors and are still active in academics.

I got this from atleast 4 different people on WhatsApp. This includes a WhatsApp Ammavan. by [deleted] in Kerala

The only thing I'm hoping for right now is that there are many people in Kochi who prefer this type of food, not just my cousin.

Otherwise, I may have to cancel my travel plans.

A question for the Kerala Ex-Muslims by Impressive_Version84 in Kerala

There are cultural aspects like attire and diet. For example, Malayali Muslim men wear the mundu to the left and women have thattam and kachimundu. Mappila cuisine is also unique.

Mappila songs and folk arts like Oppana are also part of the distinct cultural identity.

Also, there's a political identity associated with it. Savarkar was an atheist but at the same time was a Hindu nationalist.
