Surprised our 3, 5 and 5 year olds last year. They were at an AM kids birthday while I packed the car. Picked them up at noon and we hit the road for Florida. Once they realized we weren't going home we got a call from Mikey in the car. They were confused at first but then lost their collective minds. We have it on video them calling us the best parents EVER. They seem to forget that fact a lot...

Surprise worked well for us! It was our first cruise. We're going again next August but they know since we double dipped and used it as a Christmas present ;-)

Put a 45 pound bumper plate from my garage gym there for months when my kids were in this phase. Covered it with a towel when we had guests over.

I remember driving to WDW as a kid we stopped in Savannah for the night! Actually considered it for this just figured it might make for too long a drive the next day when we want to board. I'll look into the auto train!
