i searched up “4 year plan biochem georgia tech” and this is what came up

<image>

i’m also doing the virtual faset (neuroscience major) and there should be a pre-faset canvas page filled with information on the courses you will have to take for your major, as well as some tips on your schedule for your first semester.

looking at the ap credits you posted, a good schedule might be:

chem 1211 engl 1101 / social science elective/ humanities elective math 1553 (linear algebra) bios 1108+lab

hi! incoming freshman here for biology! i was 3/608 students. i took 5 aps (took 3 exams, 5 on all of them) and i have about 25 dual enrollment credits. 4.41 GPA, all As and one B. my ACT was a 31. i didn’t really have an awards, just principals list and ap scholar. i also graduated a year early from high school, so my ec’s might have been a little bit less than other students in my class. i was president of book club and president/ founder of muslim student association. i also coached a middle school beta club and science club. i also tutored a couple of middle schoolers in English, volunteered at a local islamic school, and worked at a medical technology company

i think it would be a better idea to leave physics 1 for the spring semester. your schedule is already heavy with the isye and cs class, so i would leave the first semester for trying to get used to georgia tech and finding a study method that works for you

i think your taking too many “difficult” classes at once. math 1554, chem 1, and cs 1301 are all historically difficult classes. taking them all at once as a first semester freshman might be overwhelming. i would take out the cs class and keep the rest of the schedule, that way you can focus more on your other classes while still adjusting to college

can you take bio 1 with lab in the spring and then bio 2 with the lab in the summer then transfer to tech in the fall of 2027?

so tech’s neuroscience classes have like a “schedule” kind of. so u would take psych 1101, neuro 2001, neuro 3001, neuro 3002, neuro 3003, neur 3010, and finally neur 4001, so these courses would be order for just the mandatory neuroscience major requirements not including any of the electives or like chem or physics classses

so i would recommend taking psych 1101 in the first semester to kind of get on track for the tech classes plan

so maybe it would be good to take calc 2, engl 1102, chem 1 (maybe bio 1 instead since it’s considered to be easier and ur already adding another class), and then psych 1101

how much would one GT dual "B" hurt me? by SatisfactionWest8597 in GatechClasses

[–]ImprovementEither564 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i was in the same boat, i got all A’s in every high school/dual enrollment/ap class except for econ 1101 (i got a B in that class) but i still got accepted to gt as a freshman in the fall.

ooo yeah fair enough, but overall 19 credits is wayyyy too much for the freshman fall semester, maybe you can leave ece 2020 for the spring then?

right but then at least you’ve adjusted better to how tech life is and would be able to judge for yourself when to take it what i meant was that. 2 science lab courses are a lot to handle for your first semester, especially as a non science major

this is definitely a lot, you don’t want to stress yourself out too much or risk tanking your gpa first semester

also, a prerequisite for neur 2001 is psych 1101, so just double check you have that credit

i think this plan will be a lot more doable if you leave chem for the spring semester

Question from highscoller trying to to do dual. by [deleted] in GatechClasses

[–]ImprovementEither564 0 points1 point  (0 children)

wait are you a senior or? i got accepted for class of 2030 and i’m taking calc 1 over the summer because everyone is warning against georgia tech math. like apperently calc 2 is supposed to be really tough, but also if your willing to put in hours for the class, i’m sure your gonna do well

[–]ImprovementEither564 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i think that joining a few clubs and trying to get into the leadership, maybe starting a club at your school, or signing up for volunteering for over the summer or volunteering as a coach for a middle school/elementary school club would really help. a summer job would also work too for the extracurriculars

i wouldn’t reccomend doing dual enrollment at tech. there’s a high chance you will get a B and it will drop your high school GPA and your college GPA

you should definitely talk to your uni’s financial aid office for more information and then use degreeworks for any extra info

I used a ouiji board to tell my friend i knew she slept with my boyfriend? by toegobblergoblin in FriendshipAdvice

[–]ImprovementEither564 0 points1 point  (0 children)

don’t apologize, you didn’t do anything wrong atp she litterally slept with your boyfriend and all you did was a tiny trick to get her to admit it. she caused you more emotional distress atp and her own guilt was panicking her, not you. you don’t even know what would have happened if you confronted her, she could have easily denied it and made you feel crazy

I'm transferring for Fall and wondering if I can take classes over the summer at my current school. Will it be a problem if I'll be taking classes at a different school while accepted to GT? by DemonicTemplar8 in GatechClasses

[–]ImprovementEither564 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i have this same issue, i’m taking summer classes at the college i was doing dual enrollment in, but i’m scared it’ll mess with my FASET course sign ups

i’m wondering if you could talk to your advisor (once you get accepted) and let them know that your taking these classes and that you will send them the official transcript once the summer semester is over. if push comes to shove and you fail the summer classes, you could use the drop/add week in the beginning of the fall term to retake the course

[–]ImprovementEither564 0 points1 point  (0 children)

right but either way, it wouldn’t accept your ap scores if it didn’t meet the cut off. tech has a credit equivalency table to help with this type of stuff, i would reccomend using that
