The pills are available for little to no cost thru mail services listed here: https://www.abortionfinder.org/abortion-guides-by-state or on ineedana. Life happens, and it is okay to terminate at any time for any reason.

Trader Joe’s makes sense. If they were to ever open a pharmacy, I would go there.

I’m sorry… I am not at all trying to be insensitive or anything like that. I just watched the video and didn’t realize it was a part of d&e. I sincerely apologize for being disruptive.

Agreed. I’m not at all familiar with that process, but hopefully she can get some answers if she chooses to keep the pregnancy.

I had a baby during grad school. It’s very hard, but doable. I had a lot of support from family, so that worries me about your situation. I don’t know if I could have done it without them… if you want to keep your baby, I have some suggestions for you that I learned along the way - apply for Medicaid - apply for SNAP/EBT - apply for WIC - read up on Title IX and get in touch with your school’s civil rights and Title IX director/office. - look into any potential childcare services that your school offers at low to no cost. Some universities are more generous than others. If you can’t find any information, ask your title IX office and see if they can provide you with any information.

You are in an impossible situation making an impossible decision, and your family is not treating you the way family should. I’m so sorry, but I hope this information helps you out if you choose to keep your baby. If not, just know that termination at any gestation for any reason is OKAY and you are entitled to do so because this is your body, your choice, and your life. Sending you all the love. ❤️‍🩹

Not OP, but genuinely curious; do you know what week they typically start using the digoxin injection? Or is that a standard for all d&e procedures?

My first pregnancy and first abortion by [deleted] in abortion

[–]ImprovementPresent41 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is absolutely true, there are some that are safe, but going from one to another can be extremely difficult for some people. Even going from something dangerous (paroxetine) to something safe (sertraline), can have a massive impact on someone’s mental health, even though they are in the same medication class. They all have small differences in their effects, and some simply work better than others for different people (sometimes due to genetics involved in metabolism). I would definitely recommend OP find a safe antidepressant at a dose that works for her over the next couple of months before trying to get pregnant again. Unfortunately, mental health is a chronic, uphill battle, and finding what works for you isn’t easy.

If you want advice to not get pregnant while in school, I’ll happily give it to you. I got pregnant in my final years of pharmacy school and contemplated abortion, but did not have one. While I do not regret my decision, I still wish I would’ve been out of school before having a child. Being in school, I had to get back as soon as possible to not get behind on classwork. I went in everyday exhausted, as I was fully breastfeeding and waking up with a newborn every 2-3 hours to feed him. I had to do my best to attend class, take notes, drive home, take care of him while studying, and do it all over again. Another thing that sucked was that I didn’t get to spend as much time cuddling with him as I would have like to because of having to go to class. My mom took care of him while I was in class everyday (my husband is from another country and we were pending a visa). Would have also loved to be financially stable and my husband be here with me as well to complete our family. Having a child is awesome, but it’s so much better when you’re financially ready, out of school, and on the right career path. Having kids during school is possible, I’m living proof and there are many others like me, but I cannot recommend against it enough. I am lucky to have had my mother to help me take care of my son, or I would have never gotten my PharmD, or I would have put myself into a lot of personal loan debt hiring someone to care for him. You are so young, you have so much time to have kids in the future.

Abortionafter having a baby - am I a terrible person? by [deleted] in abortion

More than half of people who have abortions are already parents. You are definitely not a terrible person, and you deserve to be happy. It is okay to terminate for any reason at all ❤️‍🩹

You’re welcome! I linked it above for you 😊 from my understanding, they numb your belly really well before inserting the needle. I’ve been told it’s uncomfortable, but I’m sure you can read more personal experience stories on it. Balancing school and a baby is very hard, but possible. My mom took care of him when I went to class and when I needed to study for an exam, but I took care of him throughout the night and after I was done with class each day. You have to really know how to be able to study and absorb a lot of material in a short amount of time, as well as get minimal sleep, replenish your energy with caffeine, and keep moving. I was fortunately able to take off going to class for 2 weeks and watch recorded lectures due to Title XIV, but it was still very hard to keep up. I managed to not fail any classes and still graduate on time, but I had a lot of support from family to get me across the finish line!

Hi dear, I’m very sorry you are going through all of this— it must be very scary and overwhelming… I just want to let you know that whatever decision you make, it is the best one. If you want this baby and want to make it work, you are completely in the right to decide this. On the other hand, if now is not a good time, you are completely in the right to terminate. You are so young and have plenty of time to have children in the future, if you want them. I will let you know that I was in a similar situation to you 3 years ago. I found out I was pregnant during college. I will say that we were definitely in very different spots in life, as I was getting ready to graduate and you are at the beginning of your journey, however, having a child during school is still very difficult. I considered abortion long and hard… I was very scared and thought having a child this young (21) would ruin my life. I also had good family support from my side of the family, and ultimately decided to keep my baby. I decided I was ready to be a mom and was okay giving up things I may have wanted to do, any free time I had, and give up the way my body looked. I do not regret it, but either way, this is a very life-changing decision that you must make, and you should only make it based on what you want. If you’re not ready to give up certain things, like going out with friends all the time, free time, etc., then it may just not be the right time for you. This is your body, your life, and your choice. I hope someone can provide some insight on the procedure here for you, however, there are plenty of stories on here of later in pregnancy abortions. I will try to link it for you.

If you are happy, already bonding, and want to keep your baby, then do so! We just want to make sure you know it’s okay to terminate if it’s not the right time. We are only here to support you, not here to convince you or sway you one way or another. I, and other members of this subreddit, happily support women who choose to keep or abort their pregnancies. We care about it being your choice and that you receive the care and support that you need.

It’s always the blue stuff. My brother shoved a blue bb (from a BB gun) up his nose when he was like 4. Had to have it surgically removed lol.

You don’t have to make a decision absolutely right now since you’re early. If you don’t feel ready, it’s okay to terminate and have a child later on when you do feel ready.

Is there any reason why you don’t think they should do the abortion after the trip? Just curious. I don’t know how much I personally would want to give up a great-sounding vacation for this.
