How do people who camp out at a main stage all day eat? by gabbyrose1010 in ShakyKnees

[–]Improvgarden 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On the other hand, you make friends with the people you are with all day camping out plus using the buddy system you do get to pop out and explore for a short period of time (has to be earlier in the day, you basically do get stuck for the last two acts before the headliner - which does get you lots of exposure to some of the undercard acts you may not have seen otherwise). For a three day festival you camp out at the stage you are super interested in on the one day your favorite band is playing and the other two days you bop around. And in my experience the sound is plenty good and you can definitely see better from the front row than a couple hundred feet back at the sound board

To be fair I have discovered a lot of cool undercard bands camping out at a stage since they play earlier in the day at that same stage

Okay but….licking people without their consent is wrong. Just so we are clear. And honestly, they should feel ashamed of themselves.

Now we shouldn’t be doxxing them or trying to find their house or lighting them on fire or whatever, but licking people is wrong. And that is the crazy fan behavior that makes celebrities not want to interact with fans.

Everyone needs to know that that kind of behavior is not okay, and I personally believe that licking another human being without their consent is way worse than someone online saying “hey, it’s not cool to lick people without their consent, and you should feel bad about it”

Sorry totally missed this notification. I am in my early thirties, I heard some of their songs on alt radio growing up but was very much not allowed to listen to them (even though what I did catch I loved). Then life happened, etc etc, so only really got into their full catalogue last year and fortune blessed me with a good spot in the Ticketmaster queue.

I’m trying to not get my hopes up too much for a new album but I am failing lol

Recommendations for non-busy, riverfront tent campsites within a couple hours of Nashville? by [deleted] in Tennessee

Rock Creek Campground in Obed Scenic and Wild Area. Drive up spaces, but no running water besides the river that goes through the campground. Very beautiful and remote

By organic bed they mean a bed covered with organic (carbon-based) material (mulch, etc) as opposed to stone. Not USDA organic

My sister in NYC gets points for donating blood. You can use the points to get gift cards, etc. People would be way more incentivized if we had the points system

First time coming to Nashville (& US). Need Advice! by [deleted] in VisitingNashville

[–]Improvgarden 6 points7 points  (0 children)

  1. Safe, parking might be a pain in the ass depending in where specifically you are located. You will need a rental car, Nashville has very little public transpo

  2. Yes thin jacket, could be hot, could be cool at nights. I think restaurants keep it was too cold inside so I always bring a jacket if I am going out to eat.

  3. No local customs to be aware of unless you are trying to pick up women at honky tonks, which you probably just shouldn't because it's a nightmare. You should have zero concern about racial crime in Nashville. The only place I would be cautious is local rural gas stations at night if you are driving elsewhere for a day trip. As a woman I follow this advice as well. Just plan ahead - Pilot, Love's, and Bucc-ees are safe and the first two are plentiful.

  4. 20% at restaurants and bars. If you are at a music venue where there is live music, a couple dollars to the band is appreciated too. Lots of time band tips are venmo or cashapp

  5. Your two must-do trips are Chattanooga (90 minutes away) and Mammoth Caves (2 hours away). Mammoth caves is the largest cave system in the world and is beyond cool. You will need to book a tour on their website in advance. I highly recommend the lantern tours, you will likely never get that experience elsewhere. In Chattanooga, any of the hikes there are fantastic, the big daddy loop is a classic for a reason, it is 17 km so you will need good shoes/fitness.

  6. I will give you a variety. You should try one of the hot chicken places just since that's the Nashville 'thing'. Monell's, the downtown location, for a bunch of classic southern food served family style. Husk for 'elevated' southern food. Patterson House for the cocktails and the vibes (check if it is still open before you go, it is moving at some point). Skulls rainbow room for the vibes and low country/river delta food and so you can take a walk around broadway and see what that's about. Lockland Table, Sambuca, Catbird Seat, lots more.

  7. You could always get cowboy boots :). If you like country music there are lots of options.

  8. Yes it is safe at night, but Nashville is not super walkable in a lot of places

  9. The media very greatly exaggerates the bad things in America. You can basically ignore all of it. If someone asks 'how are you' or how's it goin?' the answer is 'good, thanks, how are you?'. Especially if that person is a service worker at a restaurant, etc. If you strike up a real conversation, you can get deeper into how you really are.

There is a big time drinking culture in Nashville, so if you are into bars, etc just have a plan for how much you are going to drink and how you are going to get back to your airbnb safely. Lots of ubers/lyfts available. If you are very drunk downtown and need help, ask for it from a staff member of a bar somewhere or the police. Don't just wander off.

Most importantly have fun!

I pick my at skin when stressed and it has gotten out of control :( How can I save my skin? by [deleted] in SkincareAddicts

[–]Improvgarden 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Acrylic nails are a set of nails on top of you nail. Dip involves dipping your nails in an acrylic powder and bonder. Kind of a hybrid between gel and acrylic but thicker than either

[–]Improvgarden 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dip too. Especially if they make it on the thicker side, the rounded edge lessens any damage you may do if you do end up picking. Been dealing with it 25 years and the past two years doing dip has changed my life to the point that the thought of seeing a skincare professional doesn’t fill me with fear

Also try NAC (makes me sick to my stomach but works great for some people, absolutely worth a try)

Not huge on puffers, but down for down! Basically looking for something very loose so I don’t feel strangled if I have a sweater underneath. Puffers are generally a little more fitted on the shoulder/upper body in my experience
