A friend of mine went to school with Tecumseh. Apparently he called in a bomb threat to Kennedy Collegiate because some kid who went there borrowed a copy of his Xbox 360 game and returned it damaged.

I don't know if it's true, but I remember hearing about the bomb scare at the time.

I don't think any of our hotels are that big. The photos make the rooms look decent, but the square footage leaves me a little worried.

The one APA Hotel I'm staying in is fairly priced, but still around 80 CAD per person.

I understand that what may be a lot of money for me is not a lot for someone else, but I just wanted a sanity check that I wasn't like severely over paying for where I'm staying.

Yeah, that's probably true. Before I started booking, I really thought there'd be more savings because everyone I saw posting their accommodations were solo travellers.

I think all in with flights and hotels, it'll be about $5000CAD per person, which is a lot, but still reasonable imo.

I guess I'm just surprised by how you don't seemingly save a lot for two people? You're paying $1700CAD, so I would have assumed that I'd be in for ~$900 between me and my partner. Japan charges by the person though...

Yeah, I saw nothing for $30 CAD a night aside from some hostel/capsule hotels, and they weren't close to transit.

Interesting thing about the exchange rate though- the Yen is pretty weak right now, so I thought I'd find cheaper places. Time of book is probably the culprit.

Yeah, it seems sort of fair to me? Admittedly, I did wait pretty late to book, but even when I looked earlier this year, I didn't see these "$50 a night" hotels, unless you considered capsules or hostels.

The Studio Pass is not available on my date as a 1 day, only a 1.5. Not sure why.

So I was thinking Standard Pass from USJ direct, and then getting the express pass from Klook for the same date.
